  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Accessories

Please make a Lego room in the stores, or some sort of way to see rigging ideas on the website. There's so many options it's hard to picture configurations only seeing each piece individually online.

That's an extremely complicated project, they're braver than me if they're undertaking it.

+1
I would love to build those models. But I'm sure they're already made. ;)

Just wondering what the basics to attach my Epic to a tripod would be? I see a bottom plate and the dove tail mentioned in the store but I guess what Im wondering is can or will I be able to use my ET/Arri standard dove tail with the Epic attachments I see in the store or should I plan to get the total dovetail and locking bracket that is offered.

Any idea when I can purchase this from the store?

Can I use the new QUICK RELEASE PLATFORM directly on an ELEMENT TECHNICA MANTIS ?.

Element Technica says THE MANIS is "designed specifically for Arriflex style bridge plates"

Thanks.

Yes you can, we have done this, as we use the Shoulder pad plus dovetail plate form the Mantis and everything else form the RED CLUTCH,
with the Quick release Pro system, fits like a glove... ;)

As Stacey and Ketch both point out, the RED QR dovetail plate fits all ARRI-standard dovetails; including the ET Mantis.

Did I miss the EpicX body re-design, or was that posted somewhere?

Yes, and I found that I can pimp my mantis as shown if photo. Works great for a lower POV. Very stable, too.

Michael, that's awesome! Would you mind posting 1 or 2 more pics from a diff angle so I can fully see how you did that?

Hey Ketch,

Even though you're hiding behind the camera ...:001_smile:... I can see that your EVF is pointed up and your head is tilted upwards to greet it.

Isn't there some way with that Spinner mount system to lower the Bomb EVF into a variety of viewing heights so that your line of vision can resemble that of the camera lens?

Thanks!

"The Mantis" looks great. I think it's my favourite option for EPIC. But I'll wait to see the price of the whole RED BACKPACK SYSTEM.

That is the only photo I have now. Will have my assistant shoot some more later this week. The battery mount is kludged from taking it off the Red Cradle from my Red One, drilling two holes in the steel back plate and bolting it to the Red One 19mm Top Mount. The Epic is hanging from a Red One Universal Mount via the Brook Willard top plate. I have a couple of 24" carbon fiber rods coming to lighten the rig (I am 61 and find that lighter is better). I find that the Kenyon gyro is not necessary most of the time as this rig is so stable on the shoulder. More photos to be posted when available.

you can mount a swat rail to the side of the FMJ toplate and onto the swat the spinner. works great

That is exactly what i am after. Now when are these guys are going to release it? No information on their website about it.

Come on Red make your own one!
