  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RCX PRO Build 11 Beta and Epic/ Scarlet Camera build 3.0 (release)

We've identified the crash issue on 10.5 and have been working on a fix. We should have a build soon for you guys that are having issues to try so you can tell us if it fixes this issue!

This is one of those "is this a dumb question?" questions, but - Does the XML in and out on the new RCX mean that we'll be able to conform an FCP-X edit back to the original R3D files in RCX?

Terry: yes

Okay, okay, okay. REDcolor3 and REDgamma3 are very rad. Plugged into an HDSDI monitor and put my noggin in there. Also ran through some of the material from this weeks shoot. RC3 is the bomb. Really like the warm hues and tones getting a bit more "meaty" and something good is happening in the blues that I don't have words yet to describe.

On top of that, for the Canon Al mount I can confirm that these lenses work:

- Canon 200mm f/2.8L
- Canon 100mm f/2
- Sigma 14mm f/2.8
- Sigma 300mm f/2.8

Red listened and delivered. That was a tremendous update for sure!

I can't load the Force_upgrade folder on the redmag, my redmag permission is set to READONLY.
Anyone has the solution?

Thanks

Pat

Patrick: look at the RED icon in your menu bar and select to mount the SSD read/write. This is the RED Watchdog (see REDCINE-X manual for more info)

Antonio: see my answer to Patrick on the previous page

OK so i didn't follow the camera firmware instructions like a good boy, I was on location with only red volts and I copied the firmware on to my redmag. When i realized I couldn't power the camera with out the sidehandle (which the instructions say to remove before doing ugrade) I tried to erase the firmware. The firmware was "locked' in the redmag, and I couldnt erase it, so I just put the mag i the camera thinking that maybe I could just not do the upgrade (i should have know that the camera wasn't going to ask me first) anyway when I fired up the camera the upgrade started as usual. I just when through the process as usual, hoping for the best. At this point the camera seems fine. My questions is what are the consequences of upgrading with the sidehandle installed? why do we need to remove it? I can't seem to see any adverse side effects.

Yes, you have to going into disk utility on your Mac and do a "verify" and then a "repair" on the Red mag. this will get rid of Watch Dog and allow you to copy files from your desk top to the Red mag.

If your camera survived the upgrade process there will be no ill effects :)

AC Power is recommended to help ensure we have power for the duration of the upgrade process.

No need to do that. Just do this (attached).
