Thanks Brook, good to know :)
BTW, has anybody tried powering a Bartech FF with M-One motor from the P-Tap on an Epic ? I never got it to work on my Red-One, it made the camera very unstable... Or is 50W still not enough ?

Ive used the Bartech/ARRI TX and 1 motor, not prob.. Very little battery drain as well!

I'll second that Monoprice plug.

Just got off the phone with Curt -- apparently the stickiness of my APU plate may be an aberration, going to send it back for a quick replacement. Excellent customer service!

I'll have an update on our forum on Monday (12/12). Things are looking good, working on completing the controller.

Cool, thanks Curt, can't wait to read what's new. Hope 12/12 is doable for you.

Brook The USB p-tab is looking wonderful! really a product EVERYONE is going the buy, so simple and elegant, great work!

Just wondering, have the APU-AB plates started shipping? Anybody receive one yet?

They should start shipping any day now. They went on sale a week ago tomorrow I believe, and lead time is approximately 1 week according to Viewfactor's site.

What are you trying to power?

The Optitek wireless video transmitter. But looking at it again (closer this time) I see it has a Mini USB port. So, nevermind - I was able to find a Micro to Mini cable.

To the guys that suggested Monoprice, thanks. I had looked there before I posted. It is usually a great source.

Larry I have a new one piece p-tap molded cable for it.
Email me and I'll swap it for you.
BTW we also have one with mini USB plug...

Will there still be interchangable cable lengths for the AB APU plate?

How long until these hit the VF store?

Of course there will be other cable lengths! I'm still waiting on feedback from people to see what lengths they're interested in. :)

As for the USB adapter, you just missed quoting the date: :)

We're finishing up testing and prototyping now, they should be available around December 20th. Price and details coming soon

Sorry I missed that date in the text. I blame all the pretty pictures.

Perfect stocking stuffer. I'll take two.

Got my FED EX tracking for the AB plate!! thanks BROOK! wish I had it here for the LENS SHOOTOUT saturday but monday is more than fine.

MORE KUDOS! I also just got your full VF Cage (but deleted the camera right front Rib for the Stealth plate and its a thing of BEAUTY I tell ya. exactly what I hoped now I can put the shuttle on any of the ribs OR I can mount it on the stealth plate for dumb side 'Moting", just to make it, not so dumb :)

thanks again and Ill be spidering the store Dec 20 for the REDMOTE badasssss P Tap charger

Sorry is this has been answered already - does the top handle still clear the back of the camera if a brick is mounted? Or do you need some kind of riser for it....

Some people are having the handle juuuuuuust hit the V-mount battery, depending on the specific handle and a few other factors.

Since AB batteries are wider and shorter, that mount doesn't have the same problem.

I have a suggestion for a useful accessory for your plates Brook. Maybe you can make an adapter that will allow to mount your plates on 15 and 19mm rods.

Combined with longer cable options this will give us the flexibility of using your plates in different configurations: right next to the body for a tripod configuration (current config) and at the end of the handheld rig configuration to balance the whole rig.
