  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The List - Please maintain

Has anyone figured out the shipping order logic for Scarlets? I've read Brent's post which said the SO #s do not mean everything, and I see that many PL Scarlets after my SO # (1059) are noted to have received an allocation email. Almost all before my # have been shipped. I would like to think that mine is up soon, but I really have no basis for this.

Although very friendly, my sales rep cannot provide any indication as to when anything I ordered will ship, and has given me contradictory information regarding the process. I find this user forum to be the best source of information (when I have the time to dig though pages of posts). So, has anyone deduced a shipping order from variables presented in the list?

Robert, I feel your pain. My SO # is near yours (Ti PL mount) and I haven't heard anything either. Where's the love? I feel shunned :( :(

I believe no one should be deferring work waiting for this camera. Paid jobs have their own timetables, why sacrifice revenue just because you can't shoot it on you own camera? Surely you're better taking the work now & the income now than relying on third parties with their own timetable?

The thing I like about this camera & I'm hearing a lot on this forum, is the phrase "there's no longer any excuses" . So get out there & start making it happen, no excuses, whilst preparing for the arrival of your camera.

Very fair points. Finding money to pay for the rentals is the complicating part. With alot of the work/companies I've worked with they'd rather give you "gear" or what not as pay. When I shoot, I might shoot 2-3 weeks at a time, renting would be way beyond the budget for most of those projects. Even the day rate of low level cameras would possibly exceed what I'd have to take home to pay bills.

I understand you points though, and it's what I've been trying to do.

This doesn't sound like you have a very sustainable business model. Charge what you're worth!

I'm getting there. I'm new in the Denver/C Springs area and am branching out for work. With each project and contact I'm building that up more.

The list is sorted by location now?! I'm all for collaborative working, but I think we all need to take care when editing!

If I was paying attention to the merits of the list, I'd have lived in 5 different time zones since it was created. I prefer to think of it as a nifty experiment that might not yield much in terms of actual valuable results because it's crowd sourced. Data keeps changing on it all the time, at least on the order # line I'm responsible for. Is anyone else living somewhere new these days? I've always wanted to live in Australia. It's cold here in Oregon. REALLLLLLY COLD. :-)

Yea.. I think people need to understand the difference between the SO number and the stupid timecode that you get when you place your order..

I guess my order just became 'London, UK'... fully paid. I guess I could fly to London and pick it up for less than the cost of my camera... so... "I WIN!"

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone. Perhaps certain reps are getting allocation #s before others, and thus the out of order shipping. Who knows why?

My rep is not interested in looking into this though. Please do share any info your sales rep has regarding this situation.
