  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This is for TomL "Who's the leading lady that did you in"

Who else could it be? ;)

Good choice. I remember seeing "Casablanca" in college and seeing those big close-ups of Ingrid Bergman on the big screen... well, a lot of audience members fell in love that night with her. Later, I had a similar reaction to seeing Grace Kelley in "Rear Window" on the big screen. Perfection.

I will add that I saw "Alien" as a teenager when it came out, and the image of young Sigourney Weaver in her T-shirt and underwear struggling to get into her spacesuit in that (now I realize) unusually low-angle shot... it was memorable.

You still see new movies now and then that introduce the world to a new star, Audrey Tatou in "Amelie", Naomi Watts in "Mulholland Drive", though some stars find their "look" later in their careers. I wasn't that impressed with Michelle Pfeiffer in "Scarface" but fell in love when I saw her in "Ladyhawke" just a few years later. Ingrid Bergman herself was a somewhat generic blonde Swedish beauty when she first arrived in Hollywood, it took a few years before she became as interesting on the big screen.

Oh man, Grace Kelley in Rear Window is the end-all leading lady if you ask me... Good call, David.

For us divers it was hard to beat Jacqueline Bisset in the Deep, but I would have to agree Grace Kelly was the end all (Michelle Pfeiffer is a modern actor whose face can sometimes just stop your heart like Grace's did so I'd put her on the list too.).

(Go ahead, click on 'em - you know you want to.:-))

Joan Chen

Joan Chen

Joan Chen is the most stunning woman on the screen. I had a hard time finding some good screen captures and didn't want to use magazine or carpet photos.

Here's a modern classic lady, Cameron Diaz in The Mask... It's either her or Jessica Rabbit:conehead:
