  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Didn't say you were an idiot at all. There's still people who want Red to make a 3K camera with a smaller sensor out there. In reality, one of the smartest moves Red ever made was ditching that concept for the more S35 minded 4K Scarlet-X w/ Mysterium-X.

In case you guys missed it, one of Jarred's Weapon teases that hasn't been posted on Reduser:

text alignement all messed up by the unexpected crazy long firmware version... and foolcontrol needs an update for camera icons.

but obviously it confirms Jarred has a few weapons in his armoury... and that he recently got a new phone :-)

And if those numbers on the screen represent camera numbers, this could be advanced enough to control something like an Oculus Rift shoot.

Note to self: Better re-up my Omniographer web address.

Heh. I was going to mention those icons to you :) You have until summer to update them!

It looks like that and I hope that's the case, a built in Redlink. I love how the Alexa mini has a built wifi to control everything, I'm guessing and hope the weapon has the same option.

Score a hotlink off my shopping list till WPN specs are confirmed. Is anyone buying ANY red accessories right now? 3rd party vendors must love it.

I bought a Red brick and some rail gear like the quickrelease platform which I really need right now. I sincerely hope Weapon isn't rendering that useless as well.
Other then that I'm holding off on everything until I know what Weapon is. Right now, both my side handle and my +1 module might both be useless and those cost quite much.
Though I'm happy I didn't listen to people telling me to get the regular 1.8 media, glad I invested in mini-mags even though I bought them with an MX.
 
I think (!) Jarred said Redvolts/XLs and Bricks would be OK.

That is what the XL module is for. It may offer other features as well, but I don't assume it will.

huh? Those are two completely different parts in those pics. Giovanni's just shows the attached XL Module, not a battery. The monitor mount is very close to camera which gives the illusion it is larger, doubt it's a battery.. 95% sure those are knurled knobs to do away with the little screws that need an allen key. This shows the top view of the XL Module which is what you are pointing at in the Giovanni pic:

So if this thing in the Gio pic is not an XL battery, where on the Redvolt XL module do you put the XL battery, Matt? :bigear:

The first time I saw the picture above I thought the battery was on the back, with the red eject button, but now I am not so sure. That doesn't seem to resemble the XL battery, does it? Come to think of it the thing in the Gio picture doesn't look like an XL batt either. It looks more like a standard Redvolt.

I don't mean to pry but... the battery does mount in the end then... and the red release is for the battery, not the module?

O yes... Dragons are not going anywhere. Scarlet Dragon and Epic Dragon still are and will continue to be in the lineup.
