The color separation is still better on film. Many famous "shot on Red" movies have a tint applied to hide it. Digital cameras are great but I agree with many others, it's not there colorwise. I'm still doing medium format photography and the colors are ultra separated and gorgeous without any work in post. Of course with a monochromatic image like a wave it's difficult to tell anything about that even if it's nice.
