  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For any of you Raven pre-orders' who wanted a pivoting display... a new 7-inch Red Touch non-Carbon display has been announced. They could not make enough CF displays ;).

Quite a few folk wanted to exchange their 4.5" touch for a 7" touch in their package. Should be a lot of 4.5" package touchscreens for sale at a discount so they can replace with this 7".
 
its too bad because a lot of us are getting sucked into the packages but then forced to sell things out of it. though i dont get the monitor thing, i would much prefer the smaller one for locked to the top of camera control.

what would be a dream is if they released a lower cost EVF, like an EVF lite, for us raven users that would love a red evf but dont want to pay as much as another brain costs to have one, kinda nuts.
 
"Sucked into" and "forced"? Dude, this is a voluntary thing. You don't want the package, don't buy it. Just go a la carte route... Or, I can make this really easy by eliminating bundles with special pricing like that ...snapping fingers... :001_tongue:

People asked for a cheaper LCD, so we listened. And now people want the 7" over the 4.7". And in same post, also wish for a cheaper EVF.

I bet if we offered a cheaper EVF in a package, people would want the more expensive one. Damned if we do, damned if we don't, hehe...

I am not picking on your, jordan, trust me. But you see what I am saying, right?

no no no, i didnt mean you guys arent giving us a choice, i mean we are emotionally getting sucked into or forced into it because its TOO good of a deal to pass up!
it really is, i only went brain only because i thought maybe there would be other things announced or cheaper i/o options from other companies, but you guys are too fast!

Was originally going to buy the LEMO 7" Touch, but the $200 drop made me decide on the AL version + the LEMO to Pogo converter for the same price to future proof the purchase. Great day.

Carbon Fiber version of LCD weighs in at 501g, Aluminum is 549g. RED.com being updated to reflect as we speak...
 
Question when will the small raven screen ship.

Got a message that my CF 7" ships tomorrow. Which is great.
