  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2011...

New RED Pro Zoom 75-150?

Oh great, so this now means that instead of leaving for Italy in Spring will need to post date the departure till after NAB!! Haha, can't wait!!

Tirami Su' for 1000++ any one??:yikes::yikes:

I will come help you transport ... but only if you promise to share your secret recipe!!! Ha!

If its something like a limited first batch of Scarlets or EPIC-S for sale, i would instantly jump into the next plane from germany to L.A.. Hehe.

It's about time NAB was exciting again.

And speaking of a RED Party. If you have one (which I guess there isn't a lot of reason to seeing as you have a booth) How about throwing it early in the week? There isn't enough for some of us to do over more than 2 days.

Plus a surprise.
Jim

Now the next 3 months is gonna be a guessing game as to what the surprise is. At first I thought it could be the fabled 645s or 617s, but the more I think about it, the surprise will probably be the RED electronic lenses we keep hearing about.

Just search for every time that Jarred says "heh heh heh" about something. NAB will be good.

Almost every time Jarred says "heh heh heh", my credit card says "ouch ouch ouch".

NAB doesn't allow equipment sales and deliveries from the show floor. So don't expect this.
Maybe some free swag. " I've seen Scarlet and got this T-shirt".:sifone:

Haha, sorry no luck on that, but I will welcome any assistance I can get this year, cause I fill its going to be a LOT MORE the 1000 Tirami Su' this year ;)

LOL. You can't fault me for trying! Not sure if you're driving but yes I will be coming from very close to where you are, so anything you need -- if you need help bringing supplies, preparation, serving ... ANYTHING, just let me know Buddy. We can coordinate as times get closer :)

Yah I wouldn't place my money on the Monstro or any of the bigger sensors ... could be wrong, but why divert attention/excitement away from the S35 product line that's about EXPLODE and is not even released yet?

Either a new Epic feature, or new lenses/accessories is a much more likely bet IMHO ...

You have said that most of us will get (buy) Epic on NAB! And now you are telling only about show again! So will Epic be selling before NAB or on NAB or show and show again? Will be able some of us buy Epic before NAB? Or even on NAB (April - 2 month from Feb - starting production of Epic) again nobody can buy Epic? I was hope since Feb buy NAB we will get a few hundreds of customers yet and not only show! Why if start production in Feb you are talking only about show? I think from Feb for the 2 next month in April must be a few handred real owners, customers of Epic!

Here's what Jim said:

...Major volume begins in April. Many of you will have your EPIC-X by NAB. EPIC-S should begin production in May... depending on EPIC-X orders.

IF nothing changes, then many people (and no one knows how many) who are in line for an EPIC should still receive their EPIC-X before NAB.

HOWEVER... EPICs in the wild will still be relatively rare.

So...
If you want to see one and you aren't one of the lucky few at the front of the line, you can still come see working models at the show.

You can place orders and pay for equipment, place deposits, etc.. But they don't allow you to take delivery of merchandise. Which makes sense, the logistics of accommodating that and dealing with all these vendors delivering physical product would be insane. I usually have 7 or 8 new lanyards and a few swag bags after walking through the show. Actually the last two times I went, I made it a point to not grab extra crap. If it didn't fit in my backpack, I didn't take it. Last year, I still ended up with some pamphlets, free pens, more lanyards, a bunch of RealD glasses (I guess just in case I bought a 3D monitor)... And I only spent one day cruising the exhibits.

I am sure you are right, but . . .

Last year we made purchases from the floor from some pretty big named companies.

Because, you may be right please don't ask for the company names. By the way they were not trying to hide the fact either. But, I wouldn't want to cause any harm to them.

I wonder if NAB has communicated clear cut guidlines about sales to their vendor?
