I'm really glad you got sync'd up with Peter. I can imagine he's a big advocate for 617 EPIC!

Sure, but if 18 stops is including 5 stops of noise, then it's just 18 stops for the PR department and 13 stops for the DP.
My definition of professional is "those that dream higher".

It will be awesome, and I'll use and like it, that's certain. But instead of writing how awesome this is in 20 pages I'd rather try to point out what's missing and maybe they can improve upon that, I somehow miss that here.
Isn't that what releasing test footage is about?
XiaoSu,
probably you were measuring DR from the new HDRx™ enhanced R3Ds shot on EPIC in "your LAB" and know better
Sure, but if x stops is including y stops of noise, then it's just x stops for the PR department and x-y stops for the DP.

Neil,
MX is an amazing achievement of the image sensor technology.....
Sorry for that, I ment:

Maybe it's just that personally, I'd rather have understated and critical reports about stuff and get surprised to the positive end than having stuff getting hyped to death and then working on it myself and finding problems that people haven't been pointing out because they were so blinded by hype. Hype cuts lighting budgets because producers tend to believe in it, hype even gets feature films made on the 7D.
Please don't get offended just because I am trying to look at this with a critical eye.
Our testing has shown that +3 is just about all you would need given the native DR of the MX sensor. It is nice to know that you have "money in the bank" when you need it. We just haven't found that many situations when +6 was necessary.

Yep, I'm another convert. My one question is this: will we have to pay for an SSD module on the 2/3 scarlet to use HDRx™? If not I guess we only get the baked in mode.
