I might be tempted to sell some of my Leica van diemen Pl mount lenses.
please PM me for details and pics.

Please could you give a view how the Leica lenses compare to Zeiss primes.

thanks,

Dave

the leicas are fantastic, amazing contrast, very sharp. i will post some grabs from a job i just shot on them.

this is a very very small 200kb JPG but it gives you and idea.

Do they cover FF35 in PL mount. Im guessing if the glass was from the R Stills lenses then they would work well with FF35 Epic ?

This question would be great to be answered. I puzzled over this as knew somebody selling a set. If they do cover FF35 they become very interesting and rather special.

I don't think it can just be assumed as it makes sense in the conversion to mask of some of the much larger imaging circle to stop all that light bouncing around.

I have a set of these and I can really recommend them, they are fantastic lenses.
You won't regret buying these.
I've never tried it, but they are supposed to cover FF35.
Tom.

yes, i am pretty sure they cover FF35.

We have these lenses in Rental. Yes, they cover FF35.

Actually they are re-housed Leica R lenses and because of that all of them cover FF35 for sure.

Some of the examples shot on RED1:

By FF35n do you mean VistaVision (eight perf horizontal)? Always a favorite format of mine.

Sorry the 'n' was a typo, i mean full frame as in moviecam super america. 4 perf. But these lenses will still cover a frame format of 36mm X 24mm.

To be crystal clear, these lenses will cover a VistaVision, stills frame 35mm image area of 36mm x 24mm.
