  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just sharing a job I had fun with last month.

Could be anywhere in the world today.
Had one of those very rare shoots where the client & agency just let me go (so long as I stuck to the brief ) ...

Used Canon glass ( just for fun and to be a bit different)
Used the Shot over camera system for the Aerials.
Graded and finished it 99% out of my laptop...

And im not sure... but seems that every new build, the colour science is getting better and better.. Most of this is one touch grading. Almost perfect straight out of the box.

Anyways.. Just sharing.

fantastic! I really love the clips, especially the grade. Well done

Always great stuff Mark. Now we see the final ad with the hot air balloon shots you posted earlier. How long did the shooting on this project take you?

Where's the "living flame" girls in spandex? Oh man, you could've put em all over the place ala qantas "sons and daughters" ;) Looks Good.

very nice stuff!
How much CGI or post is involved in the shot at 00:47 (the dark thunderstorm/hurricane clouds)?

thanks! :)

Beautiful stuff Mark, I really think the reason I prefer Epic images to to other cameras is tonal quality, not DR per say but the way the tonality renders in highlight to shadow transitions and high contrast scenes, this vid is a perfect example of this.

that was really beautiful Mark, good to know something of this caliber can be made with canon glass and edited/finished on a laptop.
great stuff!

did you do the compositing/vfx?

Had a mate help me with a few shots, or did some as well, I needed a hand while I was off shooting another job.
But most of it is in camera. Including most of the balloons.

Mark this spot is fantastic. I love how you make it all look so easy. I know you are very talented and skilled, but I also like how you've made you're tools work for you. You are a master and adapting gear and technology to your needs.

Simply great! Imagery and sound design, juxtaposed sequencing, developed beg.mid.end visually... Love it.

Great work, Mark!
