  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just sharing a job I had fun with last month.

Mark,
Wonderful work! Nice shot selection. Your visuals give a sense of texture and the tactile, very enjoyable.

Mark:

The pieces you create are ALWAYS visually stunning, to say the least. To accomplish this spot in just 2 days of principle photography is astonishing. Composition, movement, color, editing, etc all are exceptional. We expect nothing less from you. :-)

Strong work lad.

Looks great! Some of the intro shots remind me of the Iceland shots at the beginning of Prometheus in terms of style and image quality. :)

Killer stuff as always. That's exactly why you are my main man on this forum. Simple as that.
Now imaging shooting this job with 16,5 stops of DR and even a nicer color science than we already have.
Hard to believe but soon a reality.

Thanks for sharing mate.

Best
Tim

Wow, truly stunning. So much talent gathered in one video.
Thanks for the inspiration! Really makes me long for my own Red :)
Which is your own personal favorite in this video, clip-wise?

I watched the video, and read this thread, and then I walked away.

And then it burrowed into my head . . . 2 days.

How large was your crew? I know from other threads that you like to do a lot of things yourself, and keep the camera light and compact. So I'm guessing a small crew, which can help for moving fast. But still . . . 2 days.

2 crew day 1....

15 crew day 2....

:)

This makes me wonder if I have to love you or hate you for this! Guess I'll decide on "admire".

Just so damn wonderful, it sickens me. :) This commercial is almost a full reel. Fantastic job on every point.

Amazing, if you are shooting in ny, I can be you b-cam :)
I have to watch it again :)
What did you do your grading in?
What f-stop and what lenses used ratio?
One r3d :)?

Graded in..... (wait for it)........................ FCP and some Saphire plugins.
F-stop.. range from 1.2 to 4 ... Canon stills lenses. (i was giving my PL glass a holiday)
B-cam in NY... What not :)

When I was growing up through the ranks, there was a fantastic Director / DP I used to admire... All I wanted to do was to beat him ! He rang me last year out of the blue... Just to say, Congrats. He made my decade :)
I tell a lot of young aspiring Director DP's Im mentoring, to look at my work and to try beat me on all levels. And I really hope they do. :)

And thanks Patrick. :)

I'm no DP, but still shoot stills and motion from time to time. If i can achieve this quality in my work, i'd be a very happy man! Nice job!
