Available for Pre-order on RED.COM. Ships early October.

This also introduces the new integrated SWITCH PLATE system that allows modules to be mounted directly to camera without an adapter, or on the back of a module.

Accepts REDVOLT XL batteries as well as Slow Charges when external 12V is fed through the left side input.

3.8amp AUX 2 Pin lemo output.

And Video:

Nice!!! I have been waiting for this. :) Since I already have a lot of small redvolts and want to keep my package light this is perfect for me. And I can now invest in some BIG redvolts as well. Thanks so much!!! I guess my Dual battery module will be obsolete now. :)

I watched the video as well witch explained the mounting options. very clever. :)

It can take 2 small redvolts though? Or is it just for the BIG ones? And if it can take 2 small redvolts, are they hot swappable?

The final build and design on this guy really turned out wonderful. Impressive work.

Brent. The last photo shows one without the lip to clip into the brian. Does it have a lip or not?

REDVOLT XL only....

That sad, hotswap of small volts would be nice.

Question, how much is "3.8amp AUX 2 Pin lemo output." is that enough to power any type of FF?

I'm trying to decide if I should go for the Vlock module or this. I allready have several volts a side handle, a quad module and 2xl bats and a +1. But I find the batteries not lasting long enough.

But maybe if I can use the side handle, the quad and this guy at the same time, then I would get enough power to run for a while... and also the needed 2 power out's Want to run the bolt and an FF of the camera but the +1 does not take that kind of output.

So then if buying into Vlock mosdule I would need to carry 2 sets of batteries and charger system etc.. Which I would love to avoid.

So Please RED, Make a big fat XXXXL battery. Something really big, and long lasting that can be seated in this module and on the quad. Like 3x XL volt in size. Then I can use my Quad charger and stay within one type of batteries.

the Small REDVOLTS dont have the amps needed to run AUX devices. You should try one of these Bjorn.. it has never come off my camera after I put it on. Its nice to get almost an hour of battery with the XLs and they are just at the limit of Airline Safety carry-on.

So could you use this with the +1 module and get power out from the +1 as well?

I'm all about questions this morning. :) I see you can attach the AC power adaptor to the side and can charge the battery while filming. Is it also possible to charge the battery if it's not attached to the brain? Only with the adaptor and the XL module?

Just wondering what the options are to keep my package as small as possible. Although I love the Quad charger it is big and heavy. :)

Would there be a new(er) version of the new Quick Plate module using the switching plate? :)

Hi Brent,

I'd like to know how much this module weighs?
How much a REDvolt XL battery weighs as well please?

Also I read people reporting about an hour and 1/2 for a REDvotl XL and other saying (almost) 1 hour. What is realistic, especially if you power a follow focus from it?

Thanks in advance.

Julien

Jarred that switch plate system is slick. I laughed out loud when I watched the install video! So cool...
