  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC accessories from ActionProducts

Thanks for all the positive feedback everybody!

One thing that I haven't seen from you yet, which surely you must be working on, is a compact and flexible Red Bomb EVF solution. Am I right in my assumption?

Will your bottom plate work with the ET Hybrid?

Hello Paul, we may have something up our sleeve for an EVF mount, but I'll have to post later with more information about that. Our Riser plate will work fine with the ET Hybrid!

How does HDSDI feed get to the top plate IO, and does it act as the second HDSDI connector in addition to the one on the body?

Hey Erik, I will have to get back to you regarding this question.

An expandable/collapsable dummy module just seems like it would be ideal to me for shoulder mounting, particularly with this battery plate, since it would allow one to balance most handheld configurations with the smallest profile and lowest center of gravity. It seems that it would be approaching Aaton ergonomics. Which would be a really nice thing : )

Hello Paris, at this time we do not have any plans to produce a collapsable dummy module for shoulder mounting. I understand the idea behind this, but the added weight and cost would likely be too high for us to want to produce. Here are our current solutions which are very close to what I believe you are looking for:

Our upcoming shoulder mount is modular, and can be mounted right onto the camera itself, or onto an arri dovetail and then to the camera. This allows for diverse shoulder mounting, and having a wider variety of options for balancing weight.

Justin, cool shots!!

Can you adapt the Bebob Rouge Hot Swap 120 V lock plate on your mounts?

I am very interested in a pair of this V Battery Epic mounts, just would love them even more if I could place the Bebob Rouge 120 Hot swap plate instead of the ones you have on them, possible?

If yes,. I'll have you buy the two 120 Bebo Rouge 120 Hot swap plates, and charge me the full amount all at once shipped asap for an upcoming 3D Movie.

If not possible or can't get them in time, we'll go with the RED Pro Quad battery Modules... ;)

Good eye!

The "Electra" V-mount/Gold Mount works great for 3D rigs, you only need one "Electra" on one camera with one battery. You can simply draw a power cable from the "Electra" V-mount/Gold Mount to the other camera. You will only need one Bebob Hot Swap as well. If the Bebob is roughly as big as a V-mount, then I see no problem in getting it on our "Electra". When did you need these by? :)

Looking very good. Nice products.

Thank you! As always, we will continue to update everyone on the status of these products and more!

I see the boss sitting in the shadow, left corner... ;-)
Good eye!

Agreed! Talk about attention to detail!!!

I want that VLOCK now!!

Hate to rain on anyone's parade, but has Red signed off on this/these? Any affect on Red's warranty? I like the audio plate concept. Too bad Red didn't spend a little bit more time on Epic's audio aspects of their design. Many of use warned them about this. Good luck guys.

Why would RED have to sign off on any of this? nobody is taking a PL mount off of the camera or opening up a side panel....this is all basic stuff....doubt you are raining on a parade.....it's basic stuff Tim.... like LEGOS

Our accessories things do what RED intended people to do - just plug in properly made cables to the EPIC out-puts. So no warranty issue here.

My only concern, and I'm not an engineer, is whether or not a) the audio attachment in some way affects the Epic plugs and b) if there is any "significant" restriction in fan air flow. There have been cases where Red says that use of X, Y or Z equipment on Red One voids the warranty.

Tim, I think you need not be concerned for a 3.5mm audio attachment. If this concerns you, then it would seem you would need to check every monitor you connect to the HDMI, or any other I/O devices and the list could go on forever....I think you are over-thinking or giving far too much concern to this little thing. Seems to me RED is concerned and wants to give their ok or decline to devices that MODIFY the camera in some significant way. This really deserves no concern on behalf of the red community...i think common sense rules here.

Hey guys what's the ETA on being able to order your 15 mm lightweight rods for the audio riser? Really looking forward to getting those on our rig. Thanks!
