  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC accessories from ActionProducts

Cool stuff man! It would be great if you can design a version of your audio riser with 15mm lightweight support that is compatible with the new Red quick release system....

Hi Yean

The advanced Shoulder Mount works the same and is fully Arri compatible, but has several new possibilities, like swivel function so you can tilt the shoulder pad to adjust to your shoulder. If mounted like shown on the 2 pic from left, it is just like the other one and you can go from tripod to HH just as fast.

Thanks
Brian

Thanks for the pics Daryl. Is this the only shoulder mount Action Products is selling?
What bout this? http://www.innocinema.com/product_info.php?cPath=5&products_id=146
I'm interested in the shoulder mount because it's compatible with my Arri Dovetail. And also the fact that i can go from tripod to HH almost immediately. Am I correct to say that?

Hi Brian,

Is it possible to get the Arri- style shoulder mount pad by itself? The one that slides over a dovetail. I have one of your Swap Packs (love it), it looks like it can bolt on the back of the shoulder mount?

I don't see the "advanced" shoulder mount on the website (in US and in switzerland), only the basic.
Where is the package including rodes 12' and the bridge plate ?

I'm really interested in this and the current arri base shoulder mount you guys already have. Where do find a price just for the shoulder pad?

Dear Jacob, Oliver, and Jeff,

We no longer carry the shoulder mount that is listed on our site. We will be releasing our new shoulder mount around the first of August, and will make those available at that time. At this time, the prices would be as follows:

Shoulder Pad Only - $628
ARRI Adapter Plate Only - $300
19mm Bridge Plate - $662
All 3 Parts - $1512

Thanks guys! Please stay tuned for more information

I must say that these are the first both functional and beautifully designed Epic add ons IMO....

Justin, you guys are doing a fantastic job. Your designs have a well thoughtout cohesiveness that are delivering a LOT of functionality in very small packages. What you've shown here potentially replaces a good part of the functionality of both the Red Battery Module and the Pro I/O Module and the Red Interface Plate. I really like that! I don't want to see my Epic get as big as an Alexa just to add IO and Batteries.

One thing that I haven't seen from you yet, which surely you must be working on, is a compact and flexible Red Bomb EVF solution. Am I right in my assumption?

I like the lego building block approach that Red's DSMC parts give, and I'm sure I'll end up using some of it for rails attachments, handles, etc. But the problem that I am seeing is the one-part-can-do-a-zillion-things approach, is there are no purpose designed solutions. So each solution tends to be big, complex and blocky and probably over-built. Look at the stuff Tonaci is coming up with. They are cool and imaginative assemblies. But I can't help but think they are also a little clunky and don't really do the One thing (EVF mount for example) as well as someting that is purpose built.

So I'm hoping you have something up your sleeve for EVF mount too!

Love the shoulder mount. Going to order it.
Will your bottom plate work with the ET Hybrid? If so, I'm probably going to replace thier shim plate with yours.

Keep up the great work!

Jep, and they are swiss made. What more do you want! :001_smile:
Brian has really pushed it hard this time. This stuff rocks like crazy.

I'll put all of it on my Epic-X soon.

Stay tuned, they got even more stuff coming :thumbup1:

That V-mount is great...will it work once the Pro I/O module comes online?

Hi Jeremy, doesn't this solution replace the Pro I/O module? I think the only thing that the AP solution doesn't do is digital audio (AES). But I don't need that. Is there anything else?

i guess a port for the EVF is missing? or did you guys find a solution?
the AP design is good. the little cinestyle config. i always wanted.

Instead of a shoulder pad, might it be possible to just add a super light weight, possibly expanding/collapsing, "dummy" module between the epic brain and the V-mount module as a shoulder mount?

Either contour it a bit more for ones shoulder and/or just add some padding. It seems that it would lower the center of gravity quite a bit over a shoulder pad underneath the base of the brain as several solutions seem to be doing.

Or, of course, an I/O module would work in the same way, just don't know the weight on those yet. And not as flexible in terms of size.

With this top plate and XLRs (although they'll probably need to be moved or reoriented) you could easily switch between shoulder and dSLR style, without the need for an I/O module. Just pop off the shoulder module and V-mount, and throw on the side handle.

An expandable/collapsable dummy module just seems like it would be ideal to me for shoulder mounting, particularly with this battery plate, since it would allow one to balance most handheld configurations with the smallest profile and lowest center of gravity. It seems that it would be approaching Aaton ergonomics. Which would be a really nice thing : )
