David,
I have read Mark's notes, and watched the video a few times with close attention to details and DR.
The fact of the matter is - I have seen footage from EPIC M-X that looks very much like what I'm seeing here.
Now, considering that some of the shots were at 17:1 compression, and considering these are all ungraded (except for some small adjustments in RC-X), I do like what I see.
Mind you, it's really hard to judge such a compressed down-ressed video.
However, would be nice to see exactly how much of a difference there is, so I can appreciate the Dragon better.
Mark why there are no 3:1 compression shotsHi Eric,
We did start shooting back to back tests, but it quickly dawned on us that it was a waste of time. The images showing on the touch screens were so different, one was showing alot kore info than the other straight up. and after our first round of RCX tests we decided to stop doing back to back, because we didn't need too...
So I apologise, we won't be posting back to back tests. But I'm sure some pixels hunters out there will over time.

Thanks Mark for the great first impressions and first images of an uncaged DRAGON !
Congrats to Jim, Jarred and all RED task force !
I see several shot were exposed at 250 ISO (some of them later pushed to 4000...) and see you are using VND filter on some shots to compensate for strong lights, but I am still curious on what Jarred teased as "Low ISO no penalty" on DRAGON cameras. Is 250 the minimum ISO value for the moment ... or will we be able to shoot at 125, 64 or even 25 ISO ?
Motion Mount on Dragon will form an amazing versatile image capture device but I was wondering about low ISO on bare DRAGON.
Hey Mark
thanks for doing this. It looks great, especially the higher ISO stuff.
One thing that's puzzling me is the shot at 4:39. There's a lot of noise in the dark areas of the spoiler. Is that the H.264 compression or is it on the R3D?
