Aaah. Motion mount at work? (2xpola?)

This has yet to be confirmed by Mark or Jarred, but I do not believe Mark had access to a Canon or PL Motion Mount. I'm not sure a Canon MM even exists yet. Mark had said earlier that he was using a 7-stop VND on the white car and dashboard. I think his comments in this thread about the Motion Mount are in anticipation of the combo.

Thanks Mark, great stuff.
And thanks RED for letting Mark do this.

Hell yes, Dragon delivers! :) Congratulations Jim, Jarred and Team RED, you're outstanding!!!

Public Dragon RCX builds wont be released till the end of August ( in time for the Rocket-X ) so you wont be able to open the files if Mark posted R3D's.

Will third party editing apps like Abobe Premiere and other be able to open Dragon files when the camera is released? In other words will they have access to the SDK in advanced for them to be able to have support for Dragon .r3D on day one of camera release?

...

Mind you, it's really hard to judge such a compressed down-ressed video.

However, would be nice to see exactly how much of a difference there is, so I can appreciate the Dragon better.

Just watch Mark's demo reel... while the footage is amazing to watch, I got a different feel watching it and the Dragon footage. Not sure what cameras were used in his demo reel but I'm satisfied the footage went through a finish while the Dragon footage was only adjusted somewhat using RCX.

Still, I know the Dragon footage is going to improve even more when shown in 4k.

I know sensor design won't stop here, but this looks like a good resting place.

Yep mark answered me on Vimeo- VND. Still- two polas on the Camera. It complicates the showcasing of backlight/contrast capabilities of the sensor... Still thanks for sharing it all, Mark!

Motion mount and the DRAGON thats the jiz. Forget about VND's , they compromise the image when used to hard, and useless with wide lenses, .

Also... 250iso is my new base, the results are amazing !

So if we can expose our high light at 250 iso without penalty,
I guess we need less ND filters with the Dragon than the MX right?
Thanks again for caring and sharing, and my hats of to the two J and the Red ingenieurs.

I can't tell Elsie if you're saying you liked the Dragon footage better or what, but I can say that the point of the video (it seems to me) was to show the sheer DR of what Dragon captures. If the details are captured, then the graders can do their thing and help the footage really come alive. Graded footage does make you FEEL a certain way because certain colors and palettes cause an emotional response and certain grades connect us to our mental database of movies and memories.

I personally loved the rainforest shots. I live near Smokey Mountain National Park and I walk and shoot in the woods and I hate how I can never capture what I see. Mark's comment that the camera sees what he sees is all I need to know.

Great stuff! I'm abroad in the woods so haven't sen the movie yet, just the stills, as its to slow and expensive to download it.
Looking forward to see it tomorrow. Pics looks very promising to say the least.
Thanks for the effort, Mark and the RED team

THANK YOU MARK.

THANK YOU MARK.

THANK YOU MARK.

I thought I could remain content without the upgrade because I can't afford that shit right now. Thanks for fucking that up for me. :-|

It seems I have a new goal.

Cheers
