  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1st X......

first off al
congratulations to RED TEAM

THAT IS VERY EXCITED NEWS

can anybody tell me,

what exactly will the Epic X stage 2/3 have
I know that the body, LCD,REMODE,... is included
but what about cables
are those included
can we use the same cable of the RED ONE EVF/LCD
and the 220V adaptor of the RED MX

I suppose there are no SSD cards included, but just to be sure?

can we use the RED drive 320
if so with redcode can we use ?

thanks
BC

Congrats!!!
Great to see an Epic-X out in the wild:) I know many of us have been dying for this moment!

So, like someone else asked, are all the major features(such as playback) enabled now???
I'm dying to know......:)

Playback is coming soon...

Jarred,

Does the Stage 3.5 "Epic-X brain only" include the titanium PL mount?

... The side SSD module?

John Cordell just picked up his Epic-X moments ago...

heh heh heh.. I don't know who is happier in this photo... John for receiving the first X..... or Brent for finally handing over the first X. :)

Congrats John! I believe you will lovely this amazing camera, and enjoy your shooting!

Cheers & thanks Jim, Jannard & Red Team, you guys amazing...
The Great Professional Gears it always takes time to develop & make, right now it's here...

Between the two and ASAP.

This is so huge.. Thanks Deanan and Jarred!! Some clients get spooked when you cant.. Then I tell them, well remember that thing called FILM? yeah, film.. There was no rewinding and seeing what ya got until the next day.. That doesn't usually help, but it's fun..

As long as the video out ports are enabled, There is always video assist that severs this purpose well.
Having your main camera used as a playback device is really bad idea.
I guess on smaller sets you don't have much choice...

One of the quickest ways to tick off directors and especially DPs is to have the camera being used for playback. When budget allows, video assist should always be in the plan as it allows camera department to do their jobs while clients watch playback and "discuss".

Obviously, budget plays a role as Albert mentions. Video assist can have some cost savings though, even on smaller budget projects.

Oh, and of course having playback as an option on the camera is no doubt necessary. Don't want to dismiss it entirely. So good news that it's coming soon.

Maybe we're just completely incompetent, but we could not make our features with the tiny crews we use without the benefit of playback. We're Stage 3, but we'll need to hang on to our One until playback is enabled.

What is the situation on audio with the X now? Two inputs? Will be have the capability of running in more?

We can't wait to be shooting with the X!
