EPIC-X question:
I know things change, however, RED originally said that when EPIC ships, it would be feature complete (not that it wouldn't still be upgradeable via firmware, just that it would have all the basic features that were planned (both still and video - DSMC). The idea was that EPIC would not be released like the RED ONE as a work in progress.
Then the tragedy in Japan happened and, as a result, the EPIC-M program was launched, which for many reasons occurred similar to the RED ONE program. The Cameras started shipping and significant features got added (and still are being implemented) every week.
This is not a problem at all, and I applaud RED for their outstanding work and for getting the Cameras out ASAP.
I'm just curious if the EPIC-X program means that the Cameras will be somewhat feature complete (playback, programmable rack focus, DSMC still features (shoot stills, mark stills while shooting video, etc.) or is the plan now that EPIC-X will also add these previously announced features via firmware over time?
Again, this is more of a question out of curiosity. We are extremely happy RED EPIC-M customers. However RED continues the program is fine with me. Just curious what the EPIC-X plan moving forward is.
