  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thats a great option as a spare, but thats for Red One...you would need the 2B to 1B adapter which is cumbersome.

Exactly, I simply want that vmount plate but with 1B on it in the first place. Why isnt red selling that?? They used to sell naked vmounts just like that Switronix one for like $175, and since Red is getting 1B cables, I simply want vmounts with only one lemo...a 1B

no doubt they are coming soon.
 
Not sure why the RED battery plate isn't in the store right now (out of stock?), either the RED One version or the EPIC version.... Weird. Anyway, they're under $200 as well. IIRC, cheaper than the Switronix one. Ask your bomb squad rep.

Jeff, when I talked to them on the phone today, they arent actually making a straightforward Epic battery plate, I have no idea why, and I asked when and there was no idea when. Can Jarred or Jim clarify?
 
Er... Um... WTF? The plate exists. It's part of the backpack battery module. You can get the v-mount plate with the proper EPIC connector on it in that pack. All they have to do is sell it separately. What if I need to buy a replacement? What happened to the battery plate in the store (the one that had the RED One connector on it)??? I've bought those before. I'm confused.

Not yelling at you, Shawn. I'm just confused...

Battery module is cool, but then how do you power all your accessories. I don't think the Brick is going anywhere anytime soon.
 
I thought the battery module had a d-tap?

Hey man, most of us appreciate how hard you guys are working to get these cameras out, to fulfill these insanely generous stages and all while getting more and more features enabled. What a daunting task. Careful what you wish for, right?

Just try and remember the impatient demand is the ultimate compliment, but it doesn't mean you have to rush to meet it. :) Just keep making the quality gear you are and we (well most of us) will trust the EPIC DSMC will
soon be a fully armed and operational battle station. As long as it has stop and start and all the features I have seen to date, I am eternally grateful to be in line.

I 1000% trust that Deanan (and co) will have playback going soon enough and solid as a rock.

The Epic X is also built in the USA. Irvine, California to be exact. The Epic M is more expensive because the body is hand milled. The Epic X body is cast. Everything inside is the same.
