  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 158...

Also, not really sure yet what is happening with the buttons on the windows:

reset M D

I would think it's obvious:
RESET: reset any changes you made to a clip
M: go back to clip/camera metadata
D: not sure of this one

*however after making some grades to clips and then choosing RESET, nothing happens, however when i choose M or D, the grades go back to the original settings--curves go away and all grades i made, but i don't distinguish a differance in M or D I'd like to (as in ROCKETCINE-X) be able to look at a grade, then revert back to metadata in order to begin a new grade, and then save as i like it--better is to save different grades. I'm sure it's there but i'm missing it??

Funny thing is I just wrapped a ABC job on Red hoping for such a upgrade. B158 w/RR is my new DIT operandum.

Thank you RED TEAM!

Is this a legit address, in case I want to send a li'l money (not quite $1K...yet)? :w00t:
Just buy a camera. That way your money will be sure to reach him.

Full screen (cmd-f) looses all my control windows. I am on a dual monitor system and I have the playback window on one monitor and all the other windows on the second monitor. When i go into full screen, one window shows the playback window full screen, the other window just shows the Redcine Application Workspace with no other windows.

It would be nice if you could tell Redcine to do full screen on monitor 1 or 2.

Or a maximize button on the playback window would be nice. Then I could just put it on the second monitor and maximize it.

reset is just a label for the M and D buttons, nothing is supposed to happen if you click the word itself

M : reset to metadata (camera clip settings)
D : reset everything to general default (5600 K...)

you can either click to topmost 'global' M or D buttons or the lower ones only for WB, ISO-FLUT etc

what would be very interesting is to have another set of buttons that would store and revert back to the several grades you could have stored in the .RMD metadata file. Right now if you have a RMD file with grade and use the RMD autosave function, as soon as you hit reset it will overwrite previous grade with no way to undo or get it back if it wasn't saved as a preset...

In my dreams...

Build 154 of Redcine X is still producing very under-saturated images. Apple's Color is producing much better saturation and more realistic skin tones. I'm getting much better images out of Color right now for Green Screen footage.

Is that on the new Color plugin build, Brad?

You have to change to REDcolor and REDgamma.

Agreed: if you could grade and have another button at top that shows your current grade that you can save when you grade differently. then you can go back to metadata. I guess "D" is ok to reset all your tools to have a starting point, but M for me works just as well. But definately savinug your grade on each clip would be a nice function AND to be able to copy a clip and re-grade another way i think valuable.

Hello,

You guys rock! Love this program and how often you are updating.

When the RMD format is finalized, will we be able to once again have Redrushes generate our transcoded files so it'll be possible to use up to as many cores as possible?

Or will future versions of Redcine-X be optimized for multiple cores? Fun with parallel programming!

We're dying here for a RedRocket card. Working it into the budget as it's an absolute.

Thanks again for all the hard work!

Still having trouble. I tried both those settings, but the Green is just way under saturated.

Here's the Color output:

Here's the Red Cine X output.

wow, big difference. just curious... what are your other settings? if they were the exact same image minus color saturation, then that would be one thing... but there is a huge difference in sharpness as well.

Is Tangent Wave support on PC something that's already been implemented (or hopefully in the plans if not)?

Many thanks for the update!

add a minimize button to RCX windows

add a minimize button to RCX windows

Here is the latest build of REDCINE-X.
Improvements include:

GUI:
Close buttons added to gui windows

For the next big wave of UI improvements it would be great to have 'minimize' buttons next to the close buttons : it would reduce the window to only the title bar so we can keep them handy on small screens (not all of them have keystrokes yet). Or just double clicking their title bar could be used to mini-maximize them.
