  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 158...

For the next big wave of UI improvements it would be great to have 'minimize' buttons next to the close buttons : it would reduce the window to only the title bar so we can keep them handy on small screens (not all of them have keystrokes yet). Or just double clicking their title bar could be used to mini-maximize them.

I think the work you guys are doing on RedcineX is great- new color science, rocket support, rmd, lift/gamma/gain- all amazing. But why so many independent windows? Can there at least be some standard presets for window arrangements? Or a CLEAN UP option?

Working on a new U/I. In the meantime, just set it up as you want and save the workspace.

Just checked on Thoughts and Tips...did not see it there yet. Or is it another place? i downloaded from post#11 at Thougts and Tips

EDIT: check that--- i now see it under ROCKETCINE-X

You guys don't know how happy I am to have BWF import in RC-X, I was going to have to use RocketCine for that, but now I have lift, gamma, and gain as well.

I'll be doing all sorts of fun stuff with this build starting next week. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be able to post anything about it.

But you guys at RED are rocking it right now, that's for sure.

well, after further review....i'd like to REQUEST a beer mug thumbnail and have my REDROCKET disperse an icy cold beer of my choice in the subwindows please--all else is fine---just this one item missing.
Thank you as i know you fulfill requests

CLIPS IN THE BIN

when i right click on a clip within the bin and select "save to RMD" what am i actually doing? Am i saving that version of the color grade? I am taking two clips (the same clip) into the bin and grading differently. so do i then have to save the look? or can i just save the project as an RCX and both versions are still there?

**just not certain what that "save to RMD" actually does--Anyone???

SAVE TO RMD - ?

i see in the manual where it says: Save to RMD saves teh file setting as an RMD file (new RSX format) iun the clip folder. BUT, again not sure what this does. So, if i save the project as an RCX file then i EXPECT all my grades are saved as well....now if i then choose a clip and select save as RMD--is that saving some look i changed to that clip?

If you have autosave rmd off, this will save an RMD with the grade in the clip folder (think manual rsx save in the old red alert workflow).

It's basically two ways of doing the same thing.
One on the project level with save project and one
on the clip folder level with the RMD in the clip's folder.

so if i took the file with RMD in the folder and popped it open in another computer in REDCine_X would the look from the RMD apply by default, like RSX does now?

what if i opened it in RocketCine-X? Suppor there for RMD there/coming or stay with RSX on RocketCine and use RMD on REDCine?

Hi Jim!

Sounds great. Just want to push for a UI like Apples Aperture. It is a really great UI. Slick, tight and simple to use. I would like to see parameters go into a very tight box like they do in aperture. All in one place.

Please make all unnecessary space/borders around the windows less.

Great App! Looking forward to XML import from FCP. Thanks!

What if we could beat that U/I?

By reading the 158 build manual I see that the LUA interface won't be included in the Windows version of this build. True ?

We don't want to delay the build for win so it'll go into a following build as soon as we can get it in.

Hi Jim,

Thanks Jim for the 158 preview Build.

Thank You Deanan for the scripting preview.

Please add this feature that we have in RR?

Render: Clips at Once > 1-6
Render: Cores per Clip > 1-8 Etc...

Would be nice to have it under Export Tool. :)

This feature would be really nice for times when I don't have my RED Rocket™™™ with me.

Right about now, I am shooting in India. Rocket Machine is down for the moment.

Thank You Everything.
