  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC accessories from ActionProducts

This is very cool Justin. I love the idea of simplifying power distro. Currently combined with your shoulder pad and Red's handle system from clutch, I think this might be the most elegant and compact way of rigging. The only thing I worry about is all the cables being routed to the top of the camera where any cable tension will have maximum leverage to pull the frame out of level....I guess a bongo or two routing them to the rails would be all thats necessary though.

Any update on development of the V-mount brick battery plate?

Also, will you be contacting customers who pre-ordered the original audio riser to ask their preference of which version they would like shipped to them, or should we contact you with our preference?

Your Epic accessories are looking fantastic, keep up the great work!

Thanks,

--Joe

2nd that on the pre-orders...the new looks much improved. and ETA on v-mount?

Thank you both Joe and Johnny! We are working hard on practical solutions for professionals like yourselves. We are aggressively moving forward to have these solutions available ASAP!
  • I can't give an ETA on the V-Mount at the moment but I will know more soon. I will post updates as soon as I have them.
  • I will have the first series of the EPIC Audio-Risers in stock VERY soon. As soon as I do I will be shipping them out to all customers that pre-ordered them.
  • Throughout this time I will personally be contacting all customers updating them with shipping tracking numbers for their order and after delivery to get thier feedback on the first series of the EPIC Audio-Plate.
  • Based on the feedback all customers can upgrade to the new version for free, keep the old version, or keep both (paying half price for the old version, discounted price for new).

Thanks again for the feedback! There are more updates to come soon!

Happy 4th of July Weekend People!!!!:patriot:

I'm interested in all of these accessories but the pictures are a bit confusing. Can we please get some more detailed photos ?

Hi Justin,

Can you post a picture of just the audio adapter without all the accessories.

Dear Dexter,

We will be posting pictures in just a little while of the individual products.

Does the audio adaptor MK2 screw onto any riser plate (i.e Brook Williard's bottom plate) for those customers who already purchased one from someone else?

Thanks,

Norm

Dear Norm,

The Audio Adapter will not function with other plates. Ours was designed to run the wires internally, where as other plates, such as brooke's, are not likely to have a hollowed out cord hole from the back to the front.

How does the top mount connect to the camera? are there any fly leads to hook it up?

Dear Jason,

I will have to get back to this problem to answer it specifically. At the moment, all I can tell you is that the V-Mount will be a simple solution that will keep you worry free from tying down cords.

Dear Lukasz,

We will be posting some updated pics shortly!

Looks really good, however, how does one get phantom power through the 3.5mm jack plug?

Dear HD Hildebrand,

Let me get back to you on this question within the next few days.

I would think that to do this that the 3.5mm jack on the camera would have to be a TRS connector, so using a TRS 3.5 plug will pass audio and +48v phantom power the same as using XLR3 on both ends. As long as it is wired correctly it should be good to go.

But the official word should come from Action Products about this.

The EPIC 3.5mm Jack is a TSR connector and according to RED manual: "Each microphone input supports +48V @ 10mA Phantom Power as a user selectable option".

To power the top mount you will need external power. There will be a fly lead with D-Tap or other plug if requested. So in the end you will have two leads going off the top plate to your power source and the other to the HDSDI and 4pin control out of the EPIC.

Hi Brian,

Are there 2 different shoulder mounts on your website? If so, how do they defer?

Yean

Hello Yean
Here is a preview of the advanced shouldermount that we will have ready to order in the next two weeks. I'll post some detailed information a bit later. We modified so you can also take the shoulderpad under the camera (what was a desired function regarding the epic). .... more to come.
