Hi,
The first Syrian feature film shot with RED camera, Won the (Golden Tauro) as the best film in Tormina film festival in Sicily, Italy, yesterday.

This is awesome..
I had finished printing it 15 days ago, and I guess this is great, since this Festival brings luck, (last year 5 of 7 film selection at Taormina, where among 20 film selected at the Foreign film category at the Oscars).

Congratulations! Makes us proud...

Jim

Thank you Jim.

Right now we will try to have the film Premiere at North America in Chicago International film festival, New York International film festival, or if someone have any suggestions it will be welcome.

congrats, hope to see your film one day... now, if I could only convince my local producer to shoot with a RED, I have tried everything, but I can't seem to get it through to him what the RED is all about, oh well...

What kind of process did you use for the film out, or was it all digital, from start to end?

we went through low budget film making.
and the post production were made at apple machine, with FCS2, VFX were done with apple shake (in 2k), camera tracking was made by PFTrack.
color correction was made on Color, and rendered to Lustre for 5 hours (3D-lut, film stock) checking, then printed.
that is our major workflow.

you must be.. your clients are.. filmmakers
the movie is a beautiful piece of.. filmmaking.

proves that red should be the indies camera company.. not hollywood's or mainstream industry's
put the scarlet out of the shelf shell whatever.. & next slumdog will be red shot.

edit
above.. didn't write only "beautiful piece of cinematography"

Congrats! Keep it up.

Hey Rauf,

Congratulations.. I'm looking forward to seeing the film. Would be great to see an Arab film at the Oscars representing a massive and historically rich culture of filmmaking in the middle east.

this is some great looking stuff... Congratts!

Thanks a lot guys, do you know any other films shot with RED and won prizes?

I'd say you should have submitted to the Toronto International Film Festival, but the deadline passed: June 5th.

Do you have a trailer online anywhere? Would love to see more.

Cheers!
