  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

I had feared that would happen to me Gavin. My deposit wasn't posted until this monday and my bank wont even let me pay off the deposit yet. Still i think i have about a thousand bucks of wiggle room so i should be good.
 
51205 and my rep has already charged me for my AL Canon Scarlet-X in full via credit card (a week or two ago)...it will totally suck if something goes wrong and I'm out 10 grand for several months with no camera....but I have faith we will all get what we want and in reasonable time! And yes, my rep is better than your rep :)


SIAP but my rep reminded me that Jim promised all of the Redusers that ordered at the event will be taken care of first and are at the front of the line. I believe around 300 people attended. No telling how many of those ordered but I would imagine a vast amount ordered one. So we are all probably back a couple hundred more than first thought...unless you already thought about it... in that case ignore me!

Jim did? I thought the people at the event also had to order online. And I'm assuming faced the same issues the rest of us did. Or perhaps of those issues, they are being given a bump since they were there in person. Advantage LA, I guess. If this is true, I think I'm waaaay down the line to receive the camera. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
 
There was an email sent telling those who didn't execute the order that they needed to before the 15th, to be in accordance with Jim's promise. Not everyone ordered, but I know some ordered 2 or 3.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, that pretty much lays to rest my hopes for being in the first shipment and having it with me when I leave for my month long vacay mid-december. Sigh. Hoping for a better sense of shipments by EOD tomorrow.
 
Remember it could always be worse.

Scarlet could have easily been a figment of our imagination...at least for the next several years until other camera companies began catching up...Nope! Jim and company designed and priced out a Raw 4k Digital Cinema Camera body for just under 10 grand. Winning! The best thing about Red is that they leave the decision on accessories up to you. And don't give me that "well the SSD's are to damn expensive!" when you were probably paying as much for P2 cards 3 years ago! Go Cheap, go all out, or go home and don't buy at all. Either way I'm thrilled Scarlet is alive and out in the wild as we speak. I'm absolutely thrilled to be in line for mine!

Scarlet in my hands > Scarlet in someone else's hands > Scarlet exists > Scarlet doesn't exist > Scarlet isn't even a dirty thought in anyone's mind

from what I am reading across Red user, the Canon mounts that are going to the Epic owners are starting to ship as well. I think the floodgates are about to open Scarlet kiddies....

I used to be able to do that. But now their web form has a check to prevent that.

EDIT: However in the last hour it finally landed in the balance. Ok. Now I want my Scarlet to ship tomorrow again haha.

I remember certain people calling BS on us that the SCARLET with the Ti PL mount would be delivered on time - and then you see Tonaci with his SCARLET. And, here we are again getting told we missed a deadline that is 26 hours from now on SCARLET with Al Canon mount. So, yeah, let's not put the cart before the horse.

Please remember being on REDUSER is not part of anyone at RED's job description. We do this to interact and share with our customers on top of our "normal" jobs. Some days leave less time to spend on the boards than others. Sorry, we only have so much time in a day...

I can't imagine how slammed everyone over at red must be... Scarlet, the epic stages, trying to get all the accessories out of back order, and continually engineering products for the future, damn!

It must be totally nuts at Red right now. Tomorrow is both the "Real" Scarlet launch date AND the end of Stage 3 and 3.5 reservations. Add one more thing on top of that, and George Clooney and Mark Walberg will steam on through. :laugh:
