  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where in line are we and how manmy ordered?

I got mine off my email headers, which put my SO#'s in perfect sequence with the others so it seems to be fairly accurate.

hence my questioning on where did people get the times, especially web orders

It puts me ahead of the first Al Order '888'...yet my like 20+ places behind... so... maybe there is zero merit to the SO theory? or the RED system messed up my SO?

Brent said those don't count for everything. Obviously those at the event get theirs first. Not sure how else they'd measure it...maybe attitude or behavior on RU? Size of order? Not sure what would count into play on that.

Yeah forgot to adjust the date on that, didn't realize that had a factor...ah well...thankfully thats cleared up...

I'm curious how many at the event ordered what flavors...wished I went to the event now haha

In the sense of where I could've been in line, I do as well. I still had work that week though which is helping me afford this camera. For that I'm more thankful :)

For what it matters...my rep at one point mentioned that I was in a good place in the order process for where my order went in though...which is reassuring, but it makes me feel the SO number might not count as much.
 
So nobody is getting side handles with their Scarlets? Bummer. I wish I knew whether my scarlet was coming before christmas so that I could put in an order for a VF Power Plate.

I do. Enough for my powerpack and basic Scarlet get up.

I ordered my VF plate a week ago, it shipped yesterday thank goodness just in case the sidehandles aren't shipping just yet. Thought it might be a good move when some of the first PL customers were mentioning theirs weren't shipping/ready yet either.
 
still waiting for my VF plate to ship, ordered nov. 23th. not sure how many orders they have, could imagine a bit. Jeffery, has your touch lcd shipped? I am waiting to hear from Bryan on this as it does say in stock, but I was told it was backordered, but I ordered when it was in stock. Hard to tell. It sure would be reassuring I have menu control before the camera ships =]

Well when I ordered my Scarlet is when I ordered RV's, Travel Charger, LCD Touch, and Sidehandle. So I imagine those will all ship together. The separate order was for a RED Power pack (2x Red Brick and Charger). And for that I'm still waiting for the shipment to go through.

Agreed. I know they're short on SSD's sometimes. I really hope to have the Bricks ship before the Scarlet as it sounds like sidehandles aren't going out...

I think the lesson I've learned is that there's no benefit in being patient, on the understanding that the bomb squad is inundated, and just waiting to hear back and hoping there are no wrinkles. Now I realize the very reason they're inundated is because smarter people than I are getting in touch and hammering out the details, badgering if necessary. Pretty much how I feel too.
It's against everything I am to complain and bitch about things, but I did muster up a little bit of it in this thread. Not that that has helped at all... I'll go back to being patient I guess.
 
There's plenty of benefit to being patient. First you don't post a whole bunch of stupid "Where's my camera" posts and make yourself look like an idiot. Secondly it changes how you deal with issues in the future.

Certainly makes you into the perfect red customer too! haha,

RED is one of those brands that the wait is long...its a killer but when you get the product...WOW...

I was lucky to get the RED One after the crazy period and took about a week or two before everything was processed and it was mailed but that wait to get it was a killer. Got it...and DAMN its the sweetest piece of gear ever. Problem was that i couldn't always take it in a backpack around. My Scarlet/EPIC won't be like my M9 but it will be hopefully the digital film equivalent to my M9 and 7. Plus let me capture even more of the surrounding in what would feel like another dimension. Can't wait to get hold of Scarlet...this wait...knowing it won't be as long as my EPIC wait...is terribly crazy but yeah...patience is a must...
