  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Upgrade Paths

If you send with mount, we will return with same mount. When you are allocated and told to return your SCARLET-W for upgrade, all pertinent info will be in there.

Or there is always gaff tape ; )

Awesome thanks Brent! LOL can we actually gaff tape? I feel like I'd be on the hate list for doing that
 
I assume it will take a few days to settle, but I'd love to know how take-up of the E-W was compared to expectations, particularly of S-W depositors, and what that means for those of us still in the S-W queue.

But I'll wait for that info!
 
Back in LA and read up to catch up on everything.

First. Exceptionally good job at laying out the different upgrade paths this time. Graphics make life easier for real!

Second. This is an utterly unprecedented upgrade offer to Epic-W and Weapon Helium. Even a casual glance at all of this reveals a whole lot of care for various camera owners.

Third. If you are a DSMC shooter, especially Mysterium-X, and/or a RED One owner. IT IS TIME TO UPGRADE if you ever want to. It ain't ever going to be better then this. Never ever.

Fourth. Truly RED is kicking ass on the 8K front. 8K VV Dragon, two 8k S35 options. Unreal how ahead of the curve we are right now due to the efforts put forth.

so true. Phil, thank you so much for your format compare tool! I know I've been using it a lot lately to figure out crops, I'd be lost without it!
 
Man-oh-man...
Was out all day shooting in the desert north of Mojave, to come back to the hotel and find all of this...
Just amazing, simple and incredibly generous.
I will be rewarding RED's, Jarred's and Brent's generosity with my continuing loyalty, support and appreciation. It's not much, but it's from the bottom of my heart.
And soon I'll be rocking 2 amazing cameras with amazing new Helium sensors that are just going to be amazing.
Not that the Dragon isn't. It's an amazing sensor, that makes me and my crew look good. Like they did today.

Thanks for the reply anyway Brent. I guess you guys must be swimming through uncharted waters again and a sea of epic-w switchers. Hopefully the dust settles soon

Was wondering the same if we could just send it in with gaffer tape... don't think I have the front body cap either.
 
Well, the timing for me selling my camera was impeccable. Still, good on Red for the upgrade paths that others will enjoy!

Everyone that owns one of these cameras really should have the front body cap in their inventory.
Besides shipping - such as the upgrades - it's a great way to protect the sensor if you ever need to remove the mount - even for a few minutes.

And - it's only twenty bucks.


Not listed in the RED store but just as valuable is what is called a "Cover, Shutter Mount" Item # 125-3071. An investment of fifteen bucks.
This cover fits the camera side of the lens mount to protect it when off the camera - like when the camera goes home to mom and you are left staring at the mount.
Works with motion mounts and all that do not have the captive screws.
