  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Upgrade Paths

So getting an 8K Helium now with my Mag Upgrade program!!! Ordered my EPIC W and comes in Thursday or Friday!!!
 
Super Stoked to get my hands on the EPIC W! I contacted my bomb squad rep twice today and emailed, I am sure he is tired of me already but I was curious what delivery time is on this bad boy and he was unsure. So.... any idea's?
 
Quick question Brent:
I have a few multi camera shoots coming up in November / December so ideally I would stay on Dragon for consistency but I still don't want to miss out on my options to upgrade.
What would you suggest?

Dude, I cannot answer that for you! We laid everything out on the table so you can assess your own risk versus reward scenarios...
 
Hi Brent,

First of all, thanks so much to everyone at RED for working insane hours last several days (and probably several more!).

I've used the RED.com support form to send in my request for scarlet-w order to EPIC-W upgrade. I hope that's the right way to do it.

I'll also be upgrading my EPIC Dragon later, but still mulling over whether I go to EPIC-W or W - Helium...

yes same happened to me. But other folks are reporting a really intense vetting process and a "top tier" credit rating being required so that can mean a number of things to a number of different lending companies. I'm not waiting around for the lender to just end up turning me down if I get a camera this week.

Just wondering though if I pay out of pocket and down the road (end of week) end up getting approval is it a big deal to swap payment methods? Why not wait you ask... because everyday with this brand new beast counts right now.

I'm also curious to see how the payment plan works as I also filled out my application early today and haven't been contacted yet. How stringent? I'm a sole proprietor with a good credit score but a limited history (I'm only 22 and didn't finance my car, just have a simple credit card, and deduct almost everything for this small business. Credit agencies I've noticed usually don't look at gross income, but rather profit which is no good for me since all my tax returns were from when I was still a student. I already have half the money though (what was set aside for Scarlet-W) already in my Red account.

Wish I could keep my RED Epic Dragon too, but I guess RED wants it back. :)
 
It completely depends on the lender. I can apply for a credit card directly from a cc company one day and instantly get much more than the cost of one of these cameras. Or one time I can go to Macy's and take advantage of their extreme coupons if you open a card and get a 5k line of credit. Which makes no sense to me.
 
Yea my card was charged too and I was going to finance through SoCal. Contacted my rep but haven't gotten it sorted it out yet.
 
Hey I can't buy the 8K Helium Upgrade path, there is no place to put my deposit? Do I just send the SKU number to my RED Rep?

Yes, please work with your reps if you think this happened. If you change your order from SCARLET-W to EPIC-W - and had payment option set up as credit card for your SCARLET-W - and you were allocated before your rep changed from credit card to leasing payment terms, it could have started order processing by charging the card. Silly us for having stock when we go live for a change, ha. That and being crazy enough to allow all this switching and upgrading....

So, yes, please let your rep know so we can take care of reversing the charge...
 
So being charged means you are being allocated a camera and made the cut off in inventory??!!!
