  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1) OR Weapon 8K? Epic-W we are all talking about will be Heliun 8K with different frame rates at 8K versue 6K; what the brainn does and doesn't come with is important so earlier that is known the better (I expected maybe media bay and brain)
2) you forfeit any bundled discounts? I have a raven on order and the price for preordering is less than current retail - there is no bundle - so if I switch to Epic W this week - there is no impact other than ponying up the additiional deposit funds, right? and then see what crazy lket;s make a deal Jarred has for us on the 11th (at 00:00 hours I hope ;)

And last request but please hdmi 2 out even if unuseable for capture with a recorder - let us preview/focus 8k at 4K

1. If you have a bundle on order for either of those, the open upgrade path come Oct 11 will be EPIC-W.
2. Correct, additional balance do.

Correct, EPIC-W comes with brain and media bay. No mount. No SIDEKICK included.

Yes, if you have taken delivery of a SCARLET-W, there is a path to WEAPON HELIUM 8K.
 
Talked to my Bomb Squad rep and AbleCine Rep yesterday and told them that as soon as the transfer options are live, I want to take the offer for my pending Weapon MG order...Looking forward to Oct 11th.

Thanks Brent! Great summary of what's going on.

Any chance of a peek at the frame rates/crops of the Epic-W? I know for a number of us that seems to be a critical factor in deciding whether to jump to Epic-W or stick with Scarlet-W. Great cameras either way, just hoping to be able to decide before the "kaboom"!

I'd imagine if its like Scarlet --> Epic upgrades of the past you'll want to keep it and use it for the Epic-W as you won't be getting a new one .

It wont' be, it will be the same difference as Mg -.> CF if I had to wager a guess.. but none of us will know till the 11th.

If in your in the front of the line, most definitely. And then hopefully with all those people jumping Scarlet-W will move faster.

That's Jarreds plan anyway.

It could totally back fire though if everybody jumps to Epic-W
 
I would hope that alot of the guys that jumped from raven to scarlet will stay will scarlet, maybe

This is exactly what I was considering... So if I put in this pre-order package today, nothing from this upgrade line would be honored come the 11th (no accessory pack or camera at all)?

Would I just get a refund for the pre-order/ the option to move to another upgrade path?

Sorry if the question is redundant, I just want to feel confident in my decision.

Well, right now, there is no “upgrade path” out of SCARLET-W, right? So, what is downside for you to waiting to see what is there on Oct 11?

If you put in for WEAPON Mg upgrade now, you will likely not get it in time before the Oct 11 cutoff. Correct, you deposit can be refunded or applied to something else.

Please take the time to read prior posts from Jarred and I. From earlier today:
