Hi
Really good job on the film
I many days of shooting does it take?
was it real sound or all ADR?
what was the budget for the short?
thanks

Thanks... this wouldn't have happened without Paxton.

2 day shoot. 9 days from concept to delivery.

Real sound.

Was this Paxton's first interaction with Red?

Love it. Ever since Total Recall, if you dolly down a bar you really have to have a dwarf whore sitting on it. ;-)

I am confused.
at 5:10. The protagonist is in focus. behind him, the building owner is in focus as well.
but. The protagonist's ears are out of focus. The owner's gun is severely out of focus.

Two focus planes? some crazy tilt shift lens? composite? Please clarify what is going on here.

A real work of cinematic art. Thank you for producing this amazing example of what the Epic is capable of doing. Wonderful character actors.

Wow... This is like film on crack. I don't know how anyone can argue the superiority of film anymore... this is just miles ahead. Not a pixel of noise anywhere... amazing!
There is videoish look in it. Esspecially in the bar scenes. Film looks like film. That's why it's still superior to any digital camera.

Did we really need to bring this thread back just to say that?

You're right. Film looks like film. Video looks like video. RED looks like RED...

Whether it's "superior" has IMO become a matter of taste and the skill to wield the technology I'd argue. And which is the "superior" choice when you look at the budget vs. your vision? The statement has almost become a cliché and I'm unsure if it sound anymore.

Yes, I have a huge love for film - but, I also have a huge love for RED.

You, like others, may find that film is superior to digital. Others will disagree. As in many other cases, I don't believe that there is "one" truth...

Btw. this short still rocks! :)

Yep, right tool for the job.

Is the older asian man the guy that cooks up asian food at Bruce Willis' window in the Fifth Element?

Just looked it up on IMDB. I guess actor named Kim Chan was in The Fifth Element, I actually remember that scene.
