I need a new monopod. Does anyone know when the air launches? Love the concept!

ty, with what we do this might not be the best fit, grab up the good manfroto, I have put about 300 hours on mine and am just replacing one of the rubber feet, also I have a holdfast moneymaker rig now, so when I need to chnage lenses, batteries or raise the monopod it is supported, feel free to call me, also I am in florida next week in orlando, if your close would love to meet up

Hey Steve! I must have the not good manfrotto because my stages slip! Love the concept of the air for the foot switch.

Also, would have loved to meet up but I'll be in TN all of next week!

you need to tighten the screws by the thumb thingy with the included tool that is attached to the monopod, text me and I will send you pics, I had the same issue with all my manfrotto gear, I have to tighten them a bit every 6 months or so after heavy use. I would be nervous about photographers or guests accidentally stepping on that

Launches this week I believe.

You aren't wrong :) Mine just showed up. I actually didn't know it came with a shoulder bag, but that will help getting in and out for sure.

I can tell you from first hand experience that it works and it is a problem solver. Visit mc4.la for more information. You're going to love it. and you'll be pleasantly surprised who built it.

Francis congrats!! Excited to get my hands on the 25.

P.S. Really nice job on this Francis. Gotta say I've loathed monopods for a while, but I have been using them more often to get a bit of a handheld vibe on narrative and commercial without perching the camera on my shoulder. Rigging it out right now, but it works really nicely.

Might try to find some sort of simple compact pan/tilt head solution to accompany it, but I would say that most of the time I wouldn't need that at all.

For the curious, I'm currently bolting the RED Mini Quick Release on top and it's working great.

I promise you Phil that what you're looking for is on its way. Both Jarred and I designed the Air. It comes from the genius of Jarred Land and my small brain. I'm glad you like it. We've been using it on the television show SWAT for 6 moths without issue. Call me anytime to discuss what I've learned about the Air. It is a game changer with a whole lot more to come. 000-000-000 Don't buy a head yet because something more special is on the way. Best, Francis p.s. it goes on line at 9:00a tomorrow morning

It was designed by Jarred Land and Francis Kenny, ASC. We came to Tiffen to market it although we will sell from Red Hollywood Studios. The warranty is guaranteed by Tiffen. When you buy it from mc4.LA we all sign it with signatures of the MC4.LA group on the box. We have so much more for you regarding problem solving gear that will help both cinematographers and photographers. I can tell you that it was so much fun working with Jarred. What a truly brilliant funny man who I love. It's a good group. More later and call me anytime to discuss. 000-000-000 best, Francis Kenny, ASC

It was designed and engineered by the genius Jarred Land and the somewhat sometime smart cinematographer Francis Kenny, ASC. Two years in the making but it's been field testing for 6 months under the most rigorous conditions and I honestly feel you'll love it. Like anything there is a small learning curve. But it allows for freedom which reduces response time. More later and call me anytime. Francis Kenny, ASC. 000-000-000

I need this. Especially considering one of my monopods is currently broken in half.

Also, the videos on the website are fun!
