a couple of notes on rendering a REDRay file - took the MammothHD 2013 demo/show reel which is 6 minutes as the test file 4K(QHD with audio track):
The ProRes4444 file - 49.5 GB (which is the file we showed at NAB)
The DPX Folder for ingesting into REDCineX for REDRay encoding = 320 GB (created from the ProRes4444 file)
the resulting REDRay file = 1.83GB
all done and finished in 4K - with playback thru REDRay Player
Used the mid setting of 18 "Premium" - will be testing both the 9/Standard and 36/Cinema settings over the weekend...
What was the elapsed time to transcode? Interesting to hear how lithe the resultant file became...intense alchemy happening inside that box. Thank you for sharing the details.
