  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red One On a DJI Ronin?

If the One can, indeed, be supported and work with a Ronin, I plan to buy that nifty $2500 exoskeleton I saw something about here on REDUser. But I do have the EasyRig, as well.

Stephen

Is the RED One too wide to use with those inside the Ronin's arms??? If it'll fit, it could be the modification we've been looking for!

I want to see it in action with a RED One and a small lens.

Thanks for the update, Mr. Morris!

Stephen

But you're changing the center of gravity, would you not need to extend the top piece as well so everything is lined up and balanced?

EDIT: Okay, they say in the video they'll be releasing a drop down arm extension.... I'll wait and see.

I wish someone would hurry up and let us know if this system will work with the One!

Stephen

Unfortunately not.

Hey guys, attempted to balance the R1 on the regular arms just to see if its possible. As you can see in the picture, the Extension arms will be needed as it is still front heavy even with a really light prime lens. another thing to point out is the battery will definitely need to be attached to the handlebars or belt clip.
I'll Hopefully order a pair of the cinemilled extension arms soon and i'll post again my results.

Cheers
Russell

And
if you add some weight in the bottom back?

Actually, I'm fairly encouraged by Mr. Morris's report. Let us know what you find out!

Stephen

Wouldn't the weight of that camera fry the motors? Why not get an Epic -x and sell your R1?

It seems hard to believe, but some of us don't have the extra coin to drop on a Dragon, Mr. Harris.

:-)

Stephen

Cant wait to see if this works! have a ronin but finally the market for a R1 (late to the game i know). fingers crossed on an answer soon.

I feel you stephen, I'm trying to trade out my new Epic x kit for a R1 mx kit plus 10 grand because I can't afford to keep up with Red gear, working two jobs, children and a house note.
