  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED ONE M-X Sensor Upgrade Program

This seems to be really moving along....my number is still far away, but it is getting nearer every day...
 
I have got the mails for upgrade on both my camera's 4528 & 5010,so excited

wow. #5010... that's pretty awesome. RED is really rocking the MX sensors out! At this rate, they might have everyone covered in a couple months. way to go RED team!
 
Just got 1888 back yesterday... it arrived at RED on a Friday and was shipped out Thursday night the following week. A four day turn around is nice. The only hiccup was that my case was not shipped back too... just the camera. Don't know if that's the usual procedure.. didn't get a tracking # for the case yet.
 
#5410 is at RED now. Took delivery late Dec '08.

Yes... I shipped ours (#4644) in it's Lowepro backpack. Caused a customs delay on the way into the US. So I'm guessing the camera will return separate from the backpack. Hmmm.

My own fault. Can't say they didn't warn me:blush2:

Guys this is a no brainer - keep the packaging RED used to send it to you in the first place and re-use it. No "funny" items in the shipment to upset customs on either side and we all know it has worked for safely shipping thousands of RED cameras all over the world.

Absolutely no argument from me here. It's just that we moved buildings in the interim and somehow the original Red One packaging seems to have found its way into the trash it pile instead of the keep it pile. Not happy, but by the time I noticed it was way too late.

As I've said both here and to Nick (our M-X contact) directly, there's no argument from me that the delay has been anyone's fault but mine. Shit happens and I understand the camera will be gone longer than I'd hoped. My fault, I've apologised, and I'll deal with it.
 
Hey Bettsy - hope you didn't take my post as a personal put down. It was more "advice to young players" in case anyone anyone was lacking clarity of thought as they were preparing to ship their camera. Anyone of us could have been faced with the situation where someone had enthusiastically cleaned up the mess of old boxes in the corner. Then we would have had to do what you did - make a decision and move on
 
No worries John. I was attempting the same myself. But, to make it clear, given my lack of choice, another week without the camera is nothing to not having that upgrade! And, we get to keep it and get an Epic soon too:party:

if they took July 5th off and don't count the day it arrived, today is only the 9th business day. I'm just itching to get my R1 back in my hands.
 
Just a heads up.. the remainder of this week and next week is going to be one of those crossover times where we will have a pause in getting parts for the upgrade, Shipping will resume the week of the 26th.

Yep, when it shipped Red sends you an email with the tracking number. Great and quick communication. When my camera got up graded, it was quick and painless. :)

Just a heads up.. the remainder of this week and next week is going to be one of those crossover times where we will have a pause in getting parts for the upgrade, Shipping will resume the week of the 26th.

However, it might be good to post this as a separate closed thread so that people do not have to dig for this info.

This is a problem for us, now the 5-7 days goes to what 11 - 18?
We can all understand supply problems but how about a head's up before we ship so we can prepay, keep the camera earning revenue then get notified/processed in order of payment.
Sorry, just a little disappointed that we just shipped on Friday.

Back in my day it took 32 days to get my MX upgraded. You should feel lucky. Sorry about the wait. If you need an MX body, I can rent you mine for a good price. rgdfilms@gmail.com
