No, not in RED EUROPE. We have a single dedicated M-X upgrade facility near our RED Lake Forest offices...

Hi Joe,

Jarred's first post of this thread still applies. Customers that completed the RED ONE M-X Sensor Upgrade Program and decided to enter Stage 2 of the EPIC-X Program will be credited with $1250 USD at the time that camera is invoiced. If you haven't already, please feel free to send an email to mx - at - red - dot - com and our M-X upgrade coordinator will be able to help provide you with any further information.

Does the terrible situation in Japan impact Red One sensor upgrade turnaround at all?

At the moment, we own a normal Red camera and we wanted to have it upgraded. Since our Company is entitled for a trade-in, being one of the first few Companies to own a red camera, we wanted to know if the cost for the upgrade would be added to the value of our Red camera should we decide to do the trade-in to Epic, say, in 2-3 years time. Also, can we buy just the CF module part only? If we can, is it possible for us to do the installation ourselves? Thanks!

The R1 M-X Sensor upgrade program will begin next Friday (Jan. 22nd)

The price of the upgrade is $5750 and includes the M-X Sensor and Sensor Board replacement as well as the new upgraded Optical Low Pass Filter.

Customers that upgrade their cameras and decide to enter STAGE 1 or STAGE 2 of the epic program will receive a credit back of $1250 at the time they enter either of those 2 stages.

Footage from the upgraded cameras will need to be processed using a new version of REDCINE-X that will be released next week with the SDK to follow.

Please be advised that the upgrade turn-around time will be aprox. 2 weeks from when we receive your camera to when we ship it back to you so schedule your projects accordingly.

There is also bundle price for the sensor upgrade plus a RED Rocket™™ card for $8750.


Customers will begin receiving email invitations to enter the program next week in order of R1 Delivery date.

Something seems very strange about this last post. Early RED owner......1 post, doesn't know anything about the trade in deal.....hmmmmm.
