Hey Steve,
The camera is not worth near as much as the operator where you're concerned.

uhhhh.... are you saying you have a Tattoo!!!!!?????
Steve means his RED1 named "London".
You can see that from his signature.
NAB 2006 was historical. We took deposits from a couple hundred folks "on a scam". They bet the longshot. They put down $1000 on something uncertain. That was a moment in time that will never be duplicated. Stories make history. History makes historical value.

I think Gibby's running a very early GDX Nikon mount for RED on his cam also. There were only 100 made . . .
This is an old pic of my best camera. It is Leica O-105 that belonged to Oscar Barnack, the inventor of 35mm still photography. Leica made about 30 pre-production cameras called the "Null Series"... or O Cameras. These were the 1st Leica cameras ever built. Oscar's was O-105. He actually shows up in the Leica record book as having taken O-112, then traded it with a salesman for O-105. (Note- I own O-112 also). I'm a bit of a camera history buff in my spare time.

Jim, if you don't have one already, I believe they made very few of these

Or if you don't want it you could buy it for me![]()
Not including any RED camera, what is the most recently released camera you own that you consider one of your collectors items?
You would be hard pressed to point out a camera or lens that I don't have in my collection.
Jim
I do believe that RED cameras will become important as collector's pieces in the years to come... especially RED ONEs that have significant history. Like Boris and Natasha, the pre-production prototypes or ones like #1, #7, #31... etc. Even more than any EPIC or Scarlet. The 1st ones are the most historical. They are the ones that changed history.
Remember that my opinion is worth exactly what you are paying for it.

Please continue to talk about these artifacts.
- My passion is photography (still AND motion...which is why I love the DSMC concept).
- My favorite subject is History
Go on...
You know what'd be interesting to hear? What the "experts" at PBS's "Antique's Roadshow" would say about your Boris and Natasha?
