Congrats team RED!!
I cannot wait until the Scarlet Dragon upgrade is available.
Question, what is the dragons "native" ISO? I have heard 250, 800, and 2000.
It depends I imagine on your noise floor determination. 250ISO if you cut off the bottom 2.5-3 stops as DXO did. (14.8 stops) If you feel that Dragon has 16 stops then you have 500-600ISO. If you want some highlight protection you can add another stop to your rating: 1000-1200 etc.
Whoa... I mean we all knew already what Dragon is, the best sensor to have, but those news are great anyway.Congrats RED, again. Impressive results.
Thanks! Missed that....perfect...I usually shoot at 5:1 on epic....They did mention they were testing the Dragon at 23.976 frame rate and 5.1 compression ratio.
This should end some drunken after work arguments with non-owner haters.
Of course, they are already posting about comparing a $2K camera to a $30K camera, "winning the field against a bunch of DSLRs", etc. over on CML![]()
guess they missed the part about the $40,000 Phase Ones. '-)
