Wait am minute, if FF 35-135 still film is 36mm x 24mm and Vista Vision is 37.72mm x 24.92mm (numbers from Phil's chart), what lenses will cover a Vista sensor? Certainly not FF lenses. Maybe anamorphics? Maybe we should blow the dust off the old medium format lenses, or just maybe (super wild guess coming here) there is a new lens offering from RED, I'm just guessing here.
BTW thanks for all those charts Phil, you should put out a book, I'd buy one.

Something that should be said. RED really, really has paved the road for multi-format digital cinema cameras.

They have - but they haven't (yet) made the camera I want; the 4K S16 camera. The one that gives Red raw recording in a camera the size of an A7S, so frugal on power you can shoot all day on a single brick, you can throw it in a backpack with an Angie 12-240mm, or a dirt cheap set of S16 superspeeds, and go *make movies*.
I hope this new sensor won't be exclusive to just Carbon Weapon.

I've seen a few people wondering about this and I have no idea why. It's a no brainer, and the answer is NO.
Epic-X has exactly the same spec as Epic-M
Dragon has exactly the same spec as Carbon Dragon
Weapon will have exactly the same spec as Carbon Weapon
Those who need a special lightweight expensive body material are vastly outnumbered by those who just need a box that does the job, at whatever spec level. There might well be more than one version of Weapon; maybe base Weapon and Nuclear Weapon or something, I dunno, with different technical specs - maybe think of it as Weapon and Scarlet Weapon if that's easier. But Carbon will just be a body option, perhaps on all Weapons, perhaps on just the highest spec version.
There are a LOT of people who will happily pay the price for a bigger sensor or higher frame rates or whatever, but will, frankly, laugh if you ask them to pay even more for a carbon fiber body they don't need or want.

Also - Jarred confirmed on FB...the name "Weapon" is derived from "Vista Vision"...the two "V"s make a W! Jay Kim figured it out!!
