Why is everyone up in arms over that? I didn't mean any disrespect to Phillip if that's what you guys read from it. (?!?!) Maybe I forgot a smileys, or had one too many?

Seriously though, the only thing I can think of is that you guys thought I was dissing Phillip Bloom, which was not at all my intention. I didn't take a lot of time to write that post, and it may have come out all wrong. Maybe I though I was waaay funnier than what I really am.

Was I wrong to assume that perhaps Canon told him that this is a beta version and that they were working on that aspect? I didn't expect him to actually tell us anything that could be a detriment to his relationship with them. Maybe that joke didn't come across at all though. If so I am to blame for not taking the time to write it out well. I certainly didn't call him a liar or anything else. Is he your god? I am sure he wasn't bothered by what I say in the least bit.

Phillip, did I disrespect you in some way? If so, just so you know, I definitely didn't mean to. I thank you for all your reviews and all the information you share. And on top of all that you are very pleasant on camera. I wish you continued success.

Roberto, in my small little mind it read like a diss, thanks for taking the time to explain yourself, anyway for me the big issue here that the fact that we are mentioning the 7d and the redone on the same sentence, wow for me that is a first, how can two products that are so far apart in terms of price be compared, but its happening, gotta love technology

About the jello, respectfully, I heard there is a video that shows some of it still present on these 7D (beta) bodies. Does anyone know where which one it is? I would love to see it.

The first 7D video that I'm aware of going online was from dpreview.com, a rather unsteady handheld shot of a street with an oncoming car. That had quite a bit of the jello-effect. On this page: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos7d/page14.asp

The more recently uploaded video shot by more accomplished videographers / cinematographers looks a lot better than this. I don't know how much is camera settings, and how much is camera handling and choice of material. Or even if all the different pre-production prototypes had the same hardware & firmware (?)

I hope there is some of this involved or hand held will require constantly having this in mind. And you might have to forget doing the action scene HH thing altogether.

Do shorter shutters help on the 5D? And I guess optical stabilization might be enabled with the right lenses. It doesn't seem to me that they had that going on here. If it worked it would help the jello, right?
