  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Official Post Your DSLR Still Photography Thread

Phil,
The Spherical panorama hdr from El Matador Beach is amazing. Good thinking to spherize it, and make it look unique.

Cheers to that and thank you. If you ever find yourself at El Matador it's the main cave to the right. They've shot a few scenes there for features and television. You can do a heck of a lot with high resolution spherical imagery. More than the common "little planet" look that became popular years ago.

Here's another one with a strange view of some train tracks in which you can see what is in front and behind you.

NOOB Question: how do you paste photos and videos into the Forum? Mine show up as thumbnails with links

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post photos directly. When I click on the "Insert Image" icon it gives me a dialog box that has a paste line with "http://" already in it. Paste the Flickr link in there = nothing. No brackets appear link they do for video. Help please - cannot find a FAQ link on this

Right click on the image you'd like to post from flickr and select "copy image location" or "copy image url". Then paste it into the dialog box.

Thanks Phil, On a Mac. Flickr has a "Grab a Link" dialog box - I do that. I come back to REDuser and click the "Insert Image" icon and paste = nothing happens. Nothing appears in the post - not brackets, no image, nothing

On Flickr, go to "Actions" just to the top-left of the photo, and select "View all Sizes." Right-click on the image, and you'll see (if using Firefox) "Copy Image Location." That will copy the correct link to the clipboard.

Now, in your new RedUser post, click the "Insert Image" icon, and simply paste what's in your clipboard (it will end up replacing the "http://"). Hit okay, and that should work.

If you're not using Firefox, then the steps are the same, only the verbiage used when right-clicking will be slightly different.
