  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD OMOD Modules for RED WEAPON

Hey,

I'm in the process of having custom power cables made for my soon-to-be Omoded weapon on my gimbal but I would like to know where the red pin will be directed on the modules ?
So that I don't have the cable bent from the gimbal cage :)

This may be a weird request, but I think Im not even the first to mention it.

The bottom of the module could be a perfect mounting point for some sort of shoulder pad similar to the one on the alexa. I used to velcro a small pad to the bottom of the pro i/o module on epic and it was pretty perfect for getting good shoulder balance. The only real issue was the pro i/o had vents on the bottom and having the shoulder pad covering them for long periods of time would kick the fan in and generally just made me nervous.

Mark, have you tested the omod + a battery plate in handheld mode? are all the connections strong enough for shoulder work, etc? Any way to sneak a shoulder pad in?

45 degrees so that you can use 90 degree cables for motors, etc. and the cable(s) can dress forward toward the lens from 90 lemo cables. So, if you look at the AC side of the omod where the lemos are, the red indicator is counterclockwise. I'll be posting lots of pics later in the month with OMODs on gimbals, drones and remote heads in various configs.

Thanks Mark !

I was wondering something else too. Will you offer a "vanilla" plate but with pogo pins so we can use the Wireless TX, without any other OMOD modules, directly on the brain or red Base I/O ?
I'm guessing I'll take the POE in the next few months, but a Vanilla Pogo Flavour plate could enable really tiny rig for smaller type of grip (pole, light gimbal, non-cinema crane...).
Basically something like Red Module adapter (I never thought I would say that), if it's even possible.

Sorry for the large amount of questions I have asked you these last few weeks, but I'm really excited about the OMODs and the whole 3rd parties modules.
This was something I was expecting for Epic, it's been a long road.

The bottom of the module could be a perfect mounting point for some sort of shoulder pad similar to the one on the alexa.

Problem is now it's the Weapon fan that sits there. And it would probably be too front heavy with PL glass.

This is super cool!!

What is the weight and dimension of the OMOD POE?

Yes. Not much sleep. Yes. Videos later this month. Yes. Presence at several booths at NAB. And for the West Coast folks - we are planning a little "meet the OMOD" event in LA ahead of NAB - not locked in, but looks like it will be Saturday, April 2nd.

Mark, any update on this? I'm in SF but could possibly make it down.

Will your cage rails work with wooden camera riser and top plate for weapon

@mark re. the "CM" version. Does it interface with the Compact LCS systems, or just the Cvolution controllers?

EDIT: NEVERMIND - I found the answer. . .

Ok, second question. Why no Audio "+" option to go with the CVOLUTION module?

We can do that - but we made an assumption that users that are willing to pay the premium for CVOLUTION are customers that would rather have a smaller unit and use double system sound.

Honestly - we might DROP a SKU or two - people keep complaining there are too many options - (go figure) - but we want to see what the response is at NAB when everyone can see the real deals.

Just FYI - we changed POE yesterday to TWO axis (supports two motors on PL) and one thumb wheel. And we can still give customers two thumbwheels and one lens motor as an option if they want - but POE will come standard now with TWO AXIS + 1 THUMBWHEEL - I think that is pretty dope for the Scarlet-W guys.

Hello Mark
Would you be able to provide full details of the OMOD XLR module and a possible date of availability? The website gives a general idea only. Thanks.

Marc still planning on the Poe w stereo mini in and headphone out? Would love to have 2 for a film in june

I don't understand the logic behind this as the One lens motor on the POE can aslo drive 2 motors with the appropriate Y calbe. So there would no need to have a second motor port. Where as the thumbweels need their own port. I can Imagine to work with 2 thumb wheels.

4 ports = 2 x motors + 1 thumbwheel or .... 1 x motors + 2 thumbwheel

And you can STILL use two Thumbwheels with a breakout cable. I think MORE people will want two axis + 1 thumb wheel - with no Y cable.

And either way - you get to 3-axis and two thumbwheels if you wanna cable up on POE.
