  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD OMOD Modules for RED WEAPON

Wondering if there's updates on the Omod's from NAB?

I remember Mark was saying he would show a battery module with hot swap capability at NAB. Would love to know if this is alive and any details about it.

These takeover deals are presumably in planing for a LONG time, and Teradek are physically making the OMODs, so what do you think? :)

And either way - you get to 3-axis and two thumbwheels if you wanna cable up on POE.

Awesome. Will OMOD POE XLR communicate with RT Motion Latitude long range for long-range Foolcontrol and thumbwheels for drone work? Also, similar range as using dedicated Latitude boxes on either end?

Thanks Mark, very cool to imagine a gimbaled-up Scarlet-W with almost no external cables. Q) do you have an estimated weight for the OMOD POE XLR and an estimated ship date?

For comparison, Base I/O V-lock is listed at 1.0 lb, and Latitude standalone is listed at .22 lb... so maybe 1.5 lb total all rigged up. I'm hoping the OMOD comes in not tooo crazy heavy by comparison. Thoughts?

OMOD POE is shipping mow.

Next month we start shipping OMOD COMMAND and OMOD LATITUDE. Trying to hit IBC with XLR and audio models - audio board is done and sounds amazing, just tweeking our firmware and waiting for new metal and then they will field test with some big name doc folks and news organization - while getting certified by RED.

We are late on everything - it was all much harder than I anticipated :)

I'm gonna some videos up very soon for you guys.
 
I don't know but all the DSMC2 brain concept it based on the modules, and that 3rd party will make them... but we need them yesterday. So I'm still wondering when it will be awailable, as the "only" other than Tilta option is the Omod.
I need a simple audio board rather than a wireless focus and complex LUT boards.
The stereo minijack input makes people think this camera is a joke and is a pain to the sound department.

I can understand that development allways take longer than expected but until there are some professional grade modules out there we have to use some workaround.

I don't know if the strategy of relying only on 3rd party to complete the camera was a wise choice in the customer perspective.

Hey Mark - Love the functionality of the OMOD modules and looking to snag one of the XLR modules when they're available. Any update on shipping for these?

Also, one quick question: The most important thing for me is the two XLRs, but the functionality of the POE (see: focus control) is really tempting. So, if I understand it correctly, I would just need this: https://shop.offhollywoodny.com/products/rtmotion-thumbwheel-lcs-mk3-1 with the OMOD POE XLR and one cable in order to control focus with my thumb/finger on something like a Freefly Movi setup?

I don't need the actual motor (https://shop.offhollywoodny.com/products/rtmotion-lens-motor-mk3-1)?
