OFFHOLLYWOOD HOTLINK + HOT TAP + HOTBOX R/S WIFI for RED DSMC cameras

Mark, good meeting you at IBC, I will always remember the tram...re our discussion about the Helix-

Iphone 1/4-20 to Helix right handle with Foolcontrol and Hotlink on Dragon- right thumb control of Red and ef lenses, left handle has Helix thumb controller.

That tram ride was a SNL skit :)

Is there a 1/4-20 on the Helix handle?? Send the rig over to me so I can mess around and see what I come up with -

Hi Mark,
This stuff looks great. But I have a question, as I just worked with a drone and he feared wifi 2.4 Ghz interference. Any chance the wifi could function at a higher frquency, such as 5.8 ? That would be a real bonus for drone use.
Cheers,
Damien

I have the same concerns, Damien. If you read back a couple pages, you can see Mark's answer. My solution was to buy it and test. Irrespective of what is stated, that's really the only way you'll know conclusively. And I'm sure you'll run a battery of tests for interference before hoisting your Dragon into the air. Right? Jesus could tell me it was okay, and I'm pretty sure I would still exercise some due diligence on my part.

Edit: Alright, maybe Jesus could get a pass.

There are several copter folks with early orders - guy like Kopterworx, (http://kopterworx.com/) etc. - so .... we will find out - good or bad soon enough.

I m planning to make a 5.8 Ghz version with Gigabit Ethernet, DCP router and an RF radio - but it really depends on how successful these initial products are. All the profits from these products are going into R&D for the stuff we want to release at NAB 2015.

just ordered :)

mark i'm sure its not but does the usb port allow for through power so i could for example power my Nyrius ARIES Pro ?

So the paralinx lemo to USB female connector is the best solution I take it?

Isaac in addition to the 2 Pin Lemo to USB Female, We also offer

2 Pin Film Polarity Lemo to Lemo (meaning, not crossover polarity - straight passthrough)

P tap to right angle Usb Mini

Yup. Any of these will work with HOTLINK.

Mark, is there any plans on making a simple knob that works with focus for the hotlink? I love the idea of controlling the camera through my phone, but I have a hard time thinking it's practical for a 1st AC to work long days with a touch screen, especially outdoors in rain or snow.

heh heh heh

FWIW it is quite complex to make a lightning accessory and have it Apple approved... Not sure the market is big enough for such an investment.
