Maybe this has been answered before, but what's the ideal way to power the HotBox?

Thanks!

HotLink, HotBox and HotTap all take 2-LEMO power input.

The HotLink also takes power in from USB as an option.

Power from P-Tap on batteryplate (most common) or 2-pin LEMO on the Quickplate Module.

In the case of the HotLink you can also power from the 4-pin LEMO on the +1

if you have top plate or swat cage / bones the HOTLink captive screw can attach it directly on camera side...

Isaac is waiting for the HOTBOX R/S WIFI - he went in for the big boy.

Yep. If you ain't first...your last! - Ricky Bobby!

Love this - although it takes an hour to find it (or anything else) on the ET website (http://elementtechnica.mybigcommerce.com/red-epic-rear-battery-mount/)

ET should make another version - move the V-Dock closer to the camera body and ADD 1/4"-20's on the top - focused for AKS like HOTBOX on sode of camera with V-Dock :)

I would agree, half the length would be ideal, but at the same time not having it hugging the camera body isn't a bad thing. But more 1/4x20 taps would be idea. Also a slimmer profile. Either way I don't care, HOTBOX ME!!!

Well .... I have a idea.

It's kinda one of those "think outside the box" ideas that just came to me.

The HOTLINK connects via CTRL port on the DSMC brain. We use Pins 1, 2, 4 for rs232.

Pin 3 is GPIO Output - which can present 3.3V when the camera is rolling.

So .... if the firmware wizards could add a little checkbox that would present the 3.3V on that pin ALL THE TIME - I could just grab the power from that pin since the HOTLINK PCB runs on .... 3.3V :)

Not sure if it's possible - BUT - that would mean everyone could power a HOTLINK with the one cables that comes with it.

Just thinking out loud ....

DO THIS NOW!!!! +10000000000000000 :)
