  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB13- BackPack Quickplate ( short )

But why cable? Why not power camera same way as quad module?

What he said...

Any pictures of the back of this? That would give us a better idea on how to attach it.

I wonder if you can unscrew the backpack mount on the back and mount this directly to the new assault plate adapter, skipping the backpack system all together.

Don't understand why backpack system.
Design error and not getting enough amperes through the brain ?

Am all with Tom Spark here. Not what I expected - or will there be another adapter ?
Looks interesting apart from that though.

And interesting news on other parts, for sure.

Be nice if the 6 pin lemo to camera body connector was a right angle version... be even nicer if the V-mount battery via this backpack option could power the camera through the back pins like the battery modules do. The current non right angle lemo plug sticks out at the bottom a fair bit and at least in my usage tends to get lent on when off the tripod. One of my lemo connectors has already been compromised. I modified a battery plate to accept a right angle 6 pin lemo that extends to the right of the rear, and not only is it neater, but I am no longer putting pressure on the lemo connections and therefore risking broken wires in day to day camera use. Preferable option however would be to have V-mount battery option on the backplate without the need for the lemo plug at all...

Please say it mounts directly to camera. That would be soooo amazing...

I thought this was supposed to mount directly to the back of the camera and no need for wires or cables anywhere. I have been waiting for this almost a year now and not looking like I would have hoped.
Is there any USB power ..... 5 volts I could use for to power stuff attached to the camera ? 12 volts ? What is the power output of two power connections on there ?

Will this work directly on the Pro I/O module? Also, pardon my confusion but this v-mount will work with third party batteries right or is it strictly for Red Bricks?

+1,000,000,000 - best part of the batt module is losing that cable. But I don't get enough run time from the Redvolts is many situations. That cable connection is the only thing that ever blew a shoot for me. Now always carry a spare battery plate.

This is exactly what I want too
