hahaha, looks like that was an ol' "Looks like Jarred is handing out Weapon upgrades so I better make a level-headed post telling everyone to calm down" comment!
As just to clarify, Craig, I don't think you were being annoying by asking. We're all curious and excited!
That's not what was annoying. It's that when anyone else had asked the same question he just did, he charmed in with his smart comment "Honestly just get on with making films and enjoying life and your creations. Your allocation email will turn up when it turns up!...". And now he asks the same questions he had those wise ass comments for.
If you don't have anything nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all.
Elsie N said:Heh... that was the rule my mother lived by. But I could always tell if she agreed with me about my opinion, positive or negative, about someone local or even someone in the news. I could tell because she would say nothing if she disagreed. If she agreed, she would say so. '-)
What if your mom only communicated to you via an internet forum. Would she then chime in all the time?I joke of course.
That seems to be what we, as humans, do. I am happy that RU requires real names. Things are much worse when people can post under some cryptic username. I remember when RU first switched over to real names and some people were not happy. One excuse always given was "I can't post then because my company won't want me posting here for reasons x, y and z." Its more like, "I can't say insulting things to you because you might punch me in the nose if we ever met in person."
Post of the year right here.hahaha, looks like that was an ol' "Looks like Jarred is handing out Weapon upgrades so I better make a level-headed post telling everyone to calm down" comment!
Stacey Spears said:Phil, I have a question for you. Maybe your new website can tell me this, but I will ask you here. The FOV at 6K HD with the 85mm Otus. What focal length will I need for the same FOV at 8K HD? This is where I wish the next Otus is around 100mm.
Guess I will answer my own question.![]()

Post of the year right here.
I used to love coming to RU. Between the suck up "I want a free Weapon" and to be "cool guy" posts its tough to even want to read some parts of this site. The complainers don't help either.
I think it got lost in the shuffle, but I think it would still be very useful to know - maybe on a weekly basis - what timestamp was last allocated for each camera (maybe also split to brain only / v-lock / jetpack). That way we can see progress as it's happening and make our own extrapolations from there.
Jarred and Brent, please give us enough info so we can widely speculate even more!!
Curious if anybody has heard of any Scarlet-Ws that have been allocated since April?
....may even do more harm than good as - sometimes - people take info like that and make assumptions that others in the forum take as fact.
