  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

January 2016 update

Hey, some of us ordered the Mg upgrade within an hour of the ordering going live and are getting their notice the same day as people who ordered an upgrade just a few weeks ago. So don't be so frustrated about not being the front of the line because some of us have been waiting 10 months for our orders.

Lets hope thats not because there aren't many MG orders.

Totally understood, and I think I typed that very same thing a few pages ago

All MG orders should now be notified.. If you are still waiting, contact your rep.

And check your junk mail : )

You were blasted yesterday.

:emote_happyhappy:Yes we were Brent, and thank you.

And check your RMA department :) I met the local UPS store owner this morning when he showed up to open the store.:emote_happyhappy:

Based on my time table you won't get it back for at least 2 weeks from time of arrival at Red maybe 2 and a half.

And no one is told "max". Since upgrade volume ebbs and flows since we cannot control when you send your cameras in, we estimate at average of 7-10 business days. If ebbs, shorter. if flows, longer. But vast majority fall into 7-10. This is not our first upgrade rodeo...

Yes, but 2 and a half isn't.

Incorrect as everybody is arguing/discussing semantics. If a camera arrives on a Wednesday for example, 2 and a half weeks is entirely possible when describing 7-10 business days.

RED does their best to push things through as fast as humanly possible. They even post heads up here at REDuser when things are really heavy or holidays get in the way.

Anyone who sent in their Epic-X for MG upgrade gotten a heads up from their bomb rep about payment for the upgrade?

One of the questions I asked my rep...

My current understanding:
Once they receive, they evaluate.

If the evaluation reveals an issue (or not), they will notify you and additional charges (if any) are discussed.

Payment is due before they begin work on the actual Mg "upgrade".

Of course, you need to add in any other charge (such as the choice to go for the additional OLPF set).
Did not ask if that could be part of the accessory credit - assuming not for now...

I got notified today that my Epic-X needed a repair, and that they were pausing the upgrade until that was dealt with. I made payment immediately so the upgrade process could continue.

Ouch, what was broken? When did your camera get to red?

The "OMAP" board was bad, which prevented the camera from properly outputting battery percentage info. My camera was received at RED last Thursday.
