  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - REDVOLT XL Module

Then I got longer minutes than you :)

No actually, when I think of it I usually use it with other things on camera. So yes an hour is probably more accurate.

I forgot, you're metric, that explains it. ;-)

Jarred or RED, Any chance that you guys make a REDVOLT/XL generic battery plate. I would love to have such. It would be so nice to be able to power other things with these batteries. For example I want to use a Atmos samurai with a terradeck bolt reciver if it was possible to do so with an XL battery I would only need Quad chargers and not carry all the other standards. I know you guys are a bit in a hurry to get other things done, but this little thing would not need to be done by the brain surgery department, so bring in a design intern and feel free to pm me, then I can guide him trough bettery plates, belts and all those things. I can allready picture a modular battery belt with little volt holders that hook onto each other and off course with a AC input for charging :)

That's what these guys could be used for...

This for V-Lock

New Shorter Quickplate V-Lock Battery adapter with Aux Power ports.
Provides V-Lock power to your camera in a design that matches the profile of your Scarlet/Epic/Dragon.

And this for the Redvolt XLs

The Redvolt XL Quickplate Adapter. I wanted to show a closer look at this guy. One very interesting thing to note is the port for the power LEMO, so you can choose what length cable you'll need for your rigs.

I spent about 20 minutes with Matt and he's bloody excited about some of these newly designed components. Red is expanding on their Quickplate, compact, and lightweight gear. They are doing this by utilizing the Quickplate as a standard and we're finally seeing some new accessories roll out. These weren't announced last night, but were awesome to see at the booth.

Here's a Quickplate (what I'm calling) half clamp. You can bolt this pretty much anywhere and adjust it's position. Great if you are looking to quickly relocate your battery or perhaps mount it in unique positions.

Only thing is that the future of the REDVOLT versions is not known yet, but they do exist in prototypes

Yes, I saw red volt XL plate around NAB Time but my guess is that it evolved into the XL module instead. As if the "XL power plate" was kind of a developing step of getting there.

But I would like to have both a XL module and a few XL and Volt plates. As I try to stay away from V lock and stick to the volt system but it does not fly so well just yet since at the moment I can not power anything else than RED gear with it.

So please bring out a cheap XL / dual Volt combo plate that has a Flying lead out and 12V ac in for in use charging.

Of course I don't know for sure but I'm still hopeful and confident it is a different product. At least for the V-mounts the still have both options in the store. It would only make sense that they'd have both for the redvolts as well.
But still your plea is more than valid of course!

Here's to hoping!

RED any date for shipping these modules? I really eager to get it or I will have to get something different instead. Just a time estimate would mean a lot.

I really hope this arrives on time, I can only make one trip to buy red stuff this year.... Is it common for an accesory like this to have the delivery date changed?

+1 ;-)

Does the accessory power-out of this module get fed also from the side handle revolt? Meaning, with a revolt in the sidehandle, I pull off the XL revolt from this module, does my camera accessory power down?
