  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

IBC - GPU Build REDCINE-X Beta 21

Mac Pro with Titan card here. REDCINE-X Beta 21.2 crashing on load.

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000

GeForce GTX Titan
OpenCL 1.1
Driver: 8.16.74 310.40.00.10f02
Memory: 6144MB

Mac Pro is running OS X 10.8.5
Processor 2x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
128 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

I've tried opening REDCINE-X with both the "NVIDIA WEB DRIVER" enabled and the "OS X Default Driver". Both crash with the same error. Perfectly understood this is beta. Looking forward to test driving the Titan with it!

I am not sure if this question has been answered anywhere else before, but is it possible that we can get an option that can allow us to format the SSD cards from RCX?

There are no OpenCL drivers for Titan on OS X 10.8. You'll have to wait until 10.9 drops until you can use your Titan on Mac OS.

Hi,

I haven't had the time to wade through the entire thread, so please for give me if my input is redundant:

Audio Automatch does not work properly. Randomly the sync is lost and moved a few seconds. However some files are transcoded with the right sync.

In others applications such as Resolve all is working as expected.

Hans

I have a MacBook Pro Retina and it won't run on that. Keeps crashing when I load a clip.
Sent my log files in but not heard back.

I also have a HPz800 with Nvidia Quadro 5800 and it won't even launch on that.

But the regular RCx has support for up-to 6k r3d files. Try that one instead see whether you get better results.

Confirmed we are flying with GTX Titans inside Mac Pro's running OS X Mavericks. Awesome update. Thanks RED.

Have you noticed enabling "Video on Second Monitor" not work in your mavericks? I tried both Standard and Beta versions on 10.9 and the option does not work. OSX(10.9) added some improvements to 2 monitor setups, unfortunately they hinder with the function. Red?

No this is our default way to use REDCINE-X (video on second monitor). Works great under Mavericks and tested on MacBook Pro and Mac Pro both.

Rob can you provide early transcoding benchmarks with this setup? I take that you are running 2 Titans and no Rocket. How long does it take to transcode say 256GB of R3D footage or 512GB in hours?

thanks

So you haven't tried it on a hackintosh I take it?

Not seeing much of an improvement at all using the R9 280x... is this just because it's a relatively new card or am I doing something wrong?

I'm on 12 core MacPro with a Rocket, AJA Kona3G, nVidia K5000 running Mavericks/RCXP 20 release build and cannot get viewer onto 2nd monitor (DP to DVI).

Since I had a Rocket I didn't plan to go RCXP 21 beta, does 20 not support Mavericks?

Cheers - #19
